These notes reflect a bulleted list of major and minor events in Bluestar's Prophecy that can be easily navigated.   • Fireheart, the ThunderClan deputy, and a patrol of ThunderClan warriors are trying to lure a dog pack over the gorge.
    • The pack leader is closing in on Fireheart, and Bluestar cannot let Fireheart be used as prey, so she comes to his rescue, slamming her head into the pack leader's flank and knocking him into the gorge. Before falling, the pack leader grabs onto Bluestar's leg, dragging her down into the gorge with him.
  • Bluestar is helped to shore by Fireheart, Mistyfoot, and Stonefur. Oakheart is beside her, willing her to swim.
  • She asks Mistyfoot and Stonefur to forgive her for sending them away. After a moment of uncertainty, both cats forgive her.
  • Bluestar remembers Goosefeather's prophecy, which states: Water will destroy you.
  • The scene ends with Bluestar realizing that Fireheart will blaze through the forest after her. She sees no need to hang on to her last life and dies for the last time.

  • Bluekit and Snowkit meet their father, Stormtail.
    • He stays for a short moment before going to eat with Pinestar.
  • Goosefeather comes over to them, asking if the kits have met the 'great warrior'.
    • He goes on to tell the kits about being a medicine cat, and tells them that they both will be smart cats since Moonflower is their mother, and the smartest cat he knows.
  • Goosefeather then takes Bluekit and Snowkit to the medicine den.
  • He walks away to see to Smallear, who had been bitten by an adder. Bluekit eats a leaf, finding it disgusting. Snowkit laughs at her, then eats two poppy seeds on a dare.
    • Moonflower catches them and is furious at her kits and Goosefeather.
  • Pinestar calls a Clan meeting for Leopardkit and Patchkit's apprentice ceremony.

  • Poppydawn gives birth to Sweetkit, Rosekit, and Thistlekit.
    • Sweetkit was named after Pinestar's mother, Sweetbriar.
    • Bluekit had named Thistlekit for his spiky fur that stuck up everywhere.
    • Snowkit had named Rosekit for her pinkish-orange tail.
  • Speckletail gives birth to Lionkit and Goldenkit.
  • Whitepaw and Dapplepaw are said to have become White-eye and Dappletail.
  • Sunfall takes Bluekit out to see ThunderClan territory.
    • They find the dawn patrol, and Sparrowpelt tells them that WindClan has been stealing their prey.
  • Pinestar hears of what happened, and the Clan gathers around.
    • He decides not to do anything since they had no definite proof.
  • He goes on, and announces that two kits are ready to be apprentices.
    • Snowkit becomes Snowpaw, her mentor being Sparrowpelt.
    • Bluekit becomes Bluepaw, her mentor being Stonepelt.

  • Stonepelt and Sparrowpelt take Bluepaw and Snowpaw out.
    • Sparrowpelt takes Snowpaw to the river, while Stonepelt shows Bluepaw how to gather moss.
  • He teaches her to tuck the moss under her chin to carry more, saying she would carry prey home to her Clan like this one day.
  • Leopardpaw sees Bluepaw back at camp, and laughs at Bluepaw when she tells her what Stonepelt told her about how learning how to use her claws and carry more prey.
  • Bluepaw and Stonepelt then clean out the elders' den.
    • She gets angry at how ungrateful the elders are.
  • Bluepaw then eats a mouse next to Patchpaw and Leopardpaw.
  • Stonepelt promises to take her hunting tomorrow at sunhigh.

  • Bluepaw goes hunting with Stonepelt, Sparrowpelt, and Snowpaw. They go to The Great Sycamore.
  • Snowpaw tries to catch a mouse, but misses.
  • Sparrowpelt and Stonepelt decide to practice stalking instead of hunting.
  • On the way back to camp, Bluepaw scents a squirrel.
    • She catches it, startling her Clanmates.
  • At camp, the cats praise Bluepaw for her catch.
    • Stonepelt takes her aside and tells her that she will be coming to the Gathering that night.
  • ThunderClan leaves for the Gathering.

  • Bluepaw and the rest of ThunderClan return from the Gathering. Snowpaw asks her sister how it was.
    • Bluepaw snaps back at her, having felt overwhelmed at the Gathering.
  • When she wakes, Stonepelt tells her to clean out the nursery.
  • Speckletail and Poppydawn ask her about the Gathering while she does so.
    • Featherwhisker answers for Bluepaw.
  • Snowpaw returns from hunting with a vole, and Bluepaw admires it with her.
  • Goosefeather looks at it and suddenly shouts, "It's a sign! Destruction for us all!"

  • Goosefeather shows the Clan the vole's fur and how it was unusual.
    • He says that it is a sign that WindClan will destroy ThunderClan.
  • Some of the cats are unsure of Goosefeather's prophecy.
  • Pinestar decides that they will attack WindClan at dawn.
    • He chooses Bluepaw and Snowpaw to go with the raiding party, but they would only carry messages and help injured Clanmates.
  • Pinestar goes over to Bluepaw when she doesn't eat her prey.
    • He tells her that he was nervous for his first battle as well.
  • Moonflower gives both of her kits more moss to sleep on and sees them to sleep.

  • Pinestar calls a meeting.
    • Goosefeather tells the Clan that he examined the vole and found a bit of catmint in it.
      • He says that they must destroy WindClan's medicine supply.
  • The raiding party leaves for WindClan, and it begins to rain.
  • They reach WindClan and the battle begins.
    • Bluepaw and Snowpaw stay behind with Swiftbreeze and Featherwhisker.
  • Robinwing hurries over to them, yowling that Leopardpaw had been injured.

  • Bluepaw goes with Swiftbreeze to rescue Leopardpaw.
    • They help Leopardpaw stand up and begin to move her away from the battling when Hawkheart, the WindClan medicine cat, sees Bluepaw.
  • Hawkheart taunts Bluepaw by calling her a kit.
    • He is about to attack her when Heatherstar orders him back to help the injured.
  • Bluepaw catches up to Swiftbreeze, and the warrior tells her that Hawkheart was one of WindClan's fiercest warriors untill StarClan called him to be a medicine cat.
  • Bluepaw looks behind her at the battle, searching for Moonflower.
    • She sees Moonflower appear from the medicine den, just as Hawkheart lunges for her.
      • He tosses her aside and then tears into her with his teeth and claws.
  • Bluepaw sees Stormtail protecting Dappletail. Bluepaw then wonders why Stormtail won't go help Moonflower.
  • Pinestar yowls for ThunderClan's retreat.
    • Bluepaw goes down to Moonflower.
      • Pinestar tells her that Moonflower is dead.
  • ThunderClan returns home, having lost the battle. Swiftbreeze screeches at Goosefeather that he killed Moonflower.
  • Bluepaw wonders why her mother had to die and grieves for her.

  • Several moons have passed since the battle, and Bluepaw is still depressed from her mother's death.
  • Lionkit, Goldenkit, Thistlekit, Rosekit, and Sweetkit have become apprentices.
    • Patchpaw and Leopardpaw are now warriors: Patchpelt and Leopardfoot.
    • Stonepelt moved to the elders' den when his wound from WindClan didn't heal right.
      • Sunfall became Bluepaw's mentor.
  • Bluepaw is out hunting with Sunfall, Snowpaw, Sparrowpelt, and Lionpaw.
    • She gets annoyed with Sunfall when she misses a squirrel and he tells her why.
  • She also inwardly accuses Snowpaw of being a traitor for being happier since Moonflower's death.
  • Bluepaw storms away then, hearing Snowpaw apologize to the others for Bluepaw being in one of her moods again.
    • She goes straight into a fox burrow when Sunfall stops her.
  • He asks her what is wrong, and tells her that being cold and hungry doesn't give her the right to be rude and reckless.
    • Sunfall tells her that she acts like everything is a chore, and he thinks he might be wasting his time training her.
      • He also points out that she is so bad-tempered that her Clanmates avoid her.
  • Bluepaw admits that everything had gone wrong since Moonflower's death.
    • Sunfall tells her that every cat on the raiding patrol thought they were defending their Clan and following the warrior code, and that Moonflower died for her Clan like warriors before her.
  • He finishes the talk by saying that Bluepaw can't grieve forever and should concentrate on her training to take her mind off of it.
  • As they head home, Sunfall tells her that she will be coming to the Gathering that night, though he didn't think she deserved it.

  • Bluepaw attends the Gathering with ThunderClan.
  • Pinestar leads them down, and they skid on the snow, nearly running over some of the other cats.
  • Snowpaw points out Talltail to Bluepaw, telling her that Sparrowpelt thought he would be WindClan Leader one day.
  • RiverClan arrives last at the Gathering, and a cat nearly knocks Bluepaw over.
    • He introduces himself as Crookedpaw, pointing out his jaw, which is crooked.
  • Bluepaw is amazed to see that he was still an apprentice because of how big he was.
    • He tells her that he was apprenticed late.
  • All cats around Crookedpaw and Bluepaw tell them to quiet down.
  • Cedarstar begins the Gathering.
    • Heatherstar reports that WindClan is well fed and the elders and kits have only just recovered from the battle.
  • Pinestar announces Leopardfoot, Patchpelt, Lionpaw, and Goldenpaw.
    • The other Clans ignore the new warriors and apprentices, causing them to be disappointed.
  • Hailstar announces Oakheart of RiverClan, and WindClan and ShadowClan cheer for him.
  • Crookedpaw tells her Oakheart is his brother, and tells her that he says he will be leader one day.
  • Cedarstar announces that Stonetooth, ShadowClan's deputy, has retired to the elders' den. Raggedpelt is now deputy.
  • Bluepaw notices Sagewhisker, ShadowClan's medicine cat, and her apprentice, who looked unusual with thick gray fur and a flat face.
    • The apprentice, Yellowfang, looks over at Bluepaw and then returns to cheering for Raggedpelt.
  • The Gathering then breaks up, and Bluepaw says good-bye to Crookedpaw.
  • Snowpaw accuses Bluepaw of being too friendly with Crookedpaw as they walk back to camp.
    • Bluepaw retorts that because she talks to someone doesn't mean she was mooning over them, like Snowpaw over Thistlepaw.
      • Snowpaw shouts that she is just jealous.

  • Sparrowpelt, Thistlepaw, Patchpelt, and Adderfang return from hunting.
  • Thistlepaw reports that his mentor, Adderfang, uncovered a nest of mice.
    • Snowpaw praises Thistlepaw and congratulates him on his catches.
  • Tawnyspots comes up with an idea on how to keep the elders' nests dry by weaving thick, waxy leaves among the fern stalks to stop the rain getting in.
    • He says that he will take Rosepaw with him to gather the leaves when Sweetpaw, Smallear, Thistlepaw, and Snowpaw go with them.
      • Bluepaw notices that no one asked her to come with them.
  • Sunfall, Bluepaw, Swiftbreeze, Lionpaw, and Goldenpaw go to the training hollow.
  • Swiftbreeze asks if Bluepaw knows a half-turn belly rake.
    • Bluepaw says yes and demonstrates the move for the younger apprentices.
  • Lionpaw and Goldenpaw try it.
  • Lionpaw then tries it out on Bluepaw, but she dodges out of the way just in time.
  • Goldenpaw tries to attack Bluepaw like she was an enemy warrior.
    • Bluepaw throws her off of her and then attacks back, raking her claws on Goldenpaw's ear.
  • When they get back to camp, Speckletail is upset about Goldenpaw's ear wound from Bluepaw.
    • Goldenpaw is happy that she has her first battle scar and was never in a battle.
    • Speckletail scolds Bluepaw for being rough, but Sunfall defends his apprentice by saying that it was just a training accident.
  • Adderfang returns to camp, yowling that RiverClan was invading Sunningrocks.
  • Pinestar quickly organizes patrols, and a battle strategy.
    • Stormtail, Dappletail, Smallear, White-eye, Tawnyspots, and Sweetpaw are to attack from the far side.
    • Pinestar, Sunfall, Robinwing, Adderfang, Thrushpelt, Leopardfoot, Bluepaw, Snowpaw, and Thistlepaw for a direct attack.
  • Patchpelt, Poppydawn, Rosepaw, and Goldenpaw are ordered to wait at the top of the ravine.
  • Pinestar leads the attack against RiverClan, who were waiting at Sunningrocks.

  • Bluepaw is overwhelmed by how many RiverClan cats were there.
    • A RiverClan she-cat runs beside her, going after Sunfall, when Bluepaw nips her hind leg.
  • The she-cat turns on Bluepaw and is about to attack, when Bluepaw slips underneath her and shoves her underneath her belly, causing the she-cat to tumble sideways.
    • The she-cat gets back up, and sends Bluepaw sliding across the snow.
  • As she tries to get back to the fighting, Crookedpaw finds her.
    • He shows no signs of earlier friendship and attacks Bluepaw.
  • They begin to fight, Bluepaw almost beaten until Snowpaw shows up to help her.
  • They succeed in driving him off, just as Stormtail brings his patrol down to help.
  • The RiverClan cats retreat, but as they cross the frozen river, they smash the ice to stop the ThunderClan cats from following.
  • Sunfall congratulates Snowpaw and Bluepaw on driving Crookedpaw off.
  • The cats make it home, and find that there had not been an invasion on camp.
  • Bluepaw feels a sting where her ear had been shredded. Lionpaw tells her that he wished he could have gone.
  • She is annoyed to see Thistlepaw entwining his tail with Snowpaw and rubbing his shoulder against her's.
  • Adderfang promises that battles over Sunningrocks had not ended, even though they won.

  • Bluepaw is out hunting with Sunfall, Sweetpaw, and Smallear.
    • She chases a squirrel, but misses, and finds herself lost.
  • She meets a kittypet, and he asks who she is. She tells him that she was a Clan cat.
  • Pinestar catches Bluepaw and orders her away from Twolegplace, fiercely telling her not to go there again.
    • As they leave, the kittypet calls out that his name is Jake.
  • Bluepaw catches up with the hunting patrol.
  • Sunfall tells her that she has to hunt at dawn for not catching anything that day.
    • Snowpaw tells Bluepaw that she will go out with her at dawn, saying that she wanted to.
  • The next day, Bluepaw sees a rabbit, but it runs down a tunnel.
    • She goes after it, saying they had to catch it for the Clan.

  • Bluepaw smells blood and fox.
    • She and Snowpaw turn around and begin running away, the fox pursuing them.
  • They are almost back to camp when, Bluepaw stops running, whirling around to face the fox to prevent it from going into camp.
  • Lightning snaps a tree branch off and on fire, and it crashes down between Bluepaw and the fox.
    • She stares into the fire, frozen.
  • Sunfall tugs Bluepaw away from the fire as more cats come out of camp to see what was happening.
  • It begins to rain, and the fire is dulled.
  • Bluepaw goes to see Goosefeather, and he gives her an ointment for her singed muzzle.
    • Goosefeather suddenly says, "Like fire, you will blaze though the forest. But beware: Even the most powerful flames can be destroyed by water."
      • He tells her that that was what the burning branch meant.
  • Snowpaw arrives to check on Bluepaw, and Goosefeather shoes them out of the den.
    • Bluepaw takes Snowpaw aside and tells Snowpaw that the medicine cat had a sign.
      • Snowpaw refuses to believe what Goosefeather said, saying that he was mad.
  • She goes on and tells Bluepaw that she wished she would make an effort to like Thistlepaw better.
  • Bluepaw leaves, refusing to like him, and begins to wonder if she was destined to lead her Clan.

  • Bluepaw and Snowpaw are made warriors: Bluefur and Snowfur.
  • They sit vigil that night, and Pinestar tells them to sleep, and then leaves camp.
    • Both she-cats sleep past sunhigh, and are distressed that no one woke them up.
  • Sunfall assigns them to escort Featherwhisker as he gathered catmint.
    • On the way, Featherwhisker surprises Bluefur and Snowfur by catching a mouse.
  • As they wait, Bluefur sees Jake and Pinestar sitting together on a fence, though they do not notice her.
  • Snowfur startles her by hissing at a kittypet.
    • Bluefur hisses that they grow as big as badgers when they're angry. Snowfur says they eat bones.
  • The kittypet runs away scared.
  • They help Featherwhisker carry the catmint home.
    • Goosefeather is delighted to see it.
  • Sunfall asks how their assignment went as Pinestar returns.
    • Bluefur notices how worried he looks when he learns that they were at Twolegplace.
  • She wonders what Pinestar was doing on a fence talking to a kittypet.

  • Bluefur attends the Gathering.
  • Crookedpaw approaches Bluefur, and she greets him warily.
    • He excitedly tells her that he is a warrior now, and she guesses that his name is Crookedjaw.
  • As the Gathering begins, Cedarstar announces more kittypets in the forest.
  • Pinestar, looking at Hailstar, tells the Clans that ThunderClan will drive off any intruders.
    • Cats start to accuse the Clans about borders, but Crookedjaw intervenes, saying they were talking about kittypets.
  • Oakheart growls that ThunderClan cats were always kittypet friends.
    • Adderfang and Poppydawn challenge Oakheart, about to attack him.
    • Heatherstar stops them, saying that clouds are beginning to cover the moon, meaning that StarClan is not happy.
  • Hailstar then announces Crookedjaw as a new warrior.
  • Pinestar also announces Bluefur and Snowfur.
  • Back at camp, Leopardfoot sends Bluefur to see Pinestar.
  • He tells her that she hasn't been to the the Moonstone yet.
    • Pinestar tells her to go to Goosefeather for herbs, as they would be leaving for Highstones right away.
  • As they cross WindClan territory, a patrol stops them, but then lets the two pass.
  • Pinestar and Bluefur reach Highstones, and wait until the moon is overhead to enter Mothermouth.

  • Pinestar brings Bluefur down to the Moonstone.
    • He informs her that he must share with StarClan now, and falls asleep.
  • Bluefur also falls asleep.
    • She has a nightmare of drowning in endless black water.
  • Pinestar wakes her up and leads her outside.
    • They rest until dawn.
  • They return to camp, and Snowfur greets Bluefur enthusiastically.
    • She asks what happened.
      • Bluefur replies that the Moonstone was big and shiny and that Pinestar dreamed.
  • She goes into the warriors' den to sleep and finds her nest clean.
  • Snowfur tells her that Thrushpelt cleaned it.

  • Bluefur patrols with Adderfang, Thistlepaw, and Thrushpelt.
    • Thistlepaw wistfully thinks of how nice it would be to lie at Sunningrocks that day, revealing that RiverClan had taken over Sunningrocks.
    • Adderfang claims that ShadowClan will try to take Snakerocks, seeing that ThunderClan did not fight RiverClan.
  • Sunfall, Lionpaw, Sparrowpelt, White-eye, and Bluefur go out to patrol the RiverClan border, near Sunningrocks.
    • They see RiverClan warriors on the Sunningrocks.
  • Bluefur recognizes Oakheart bounding forward, closer to the border.
    • She hisses at him, but notices that Oakheart looks amused.
  • They return to camp and find that Leopardfoot's kits are coming a half-moon early.
  • Goosefeather wanders around camp, muttering to himself and looking for signs from StarClan about Leopardfoot's kits.
  • Featherwhisker appears from the nursery, and sends Bluefur to get raspberry leaves from his den.
    • She finds them near the catmint and delivers the leaves to Featherwhisker.
  • Pinestar doesn't visit Leopardfoot, even though he is her mate.
  • The Clan paces around, impatient for the kits to be born, until Pinestar tells the Clan to eat something.
    • Sweetpaw, Rosepaw, and Bluefur all share a mouse.
  • Leopardfoot finally has two she-cats and a tom, naming them Mistkit, Nightkit, and Tigerkit.
    • Goosefeather warns them not to celebrate too soon, because the kits may not make it through the night.

  • Later that night, Bluefur is unable to sleep due to a bellyache, and goes to the dirtplace.
    • As she leaves, she sees Rosepaw going towards the dirtplace.
      • Rosepaw tells her that Sweetpaw was feeling bad, too.
  • Snowfur leaves Bluefur in the warriors' den, promising to tell Sunfall that she is sick.
  • Near sunhigh, she is finally able to leave the den and goes over to Featherwhisker.
    • He tells her that the kits are still alive as he hurries away to see to Rosepaw and Sweetpaw.
  • He returns from the apprentices' den, and tells Bluefur that the kits are called Tigerkit, Nightkit, and Mistkit.
  • Poppydawn tends to Rosepaw and Sweetpaw, allowing Featherwhisker a chance to sleep.
  • Bluefur visits Rosepaw and Sweetpaw. Rosepaw says she's feeling better.
  • She goes to Goosefeather for herbs.
    • He asks why there are so many omens and cats ill in the camp.
  • Bluefur sees Lionpaw, and asks where Pinestar was.
    • He hesitates, and then says that he cannot tell her.
  • As he passed her, Bluefur scents catmint on Lionpaw's pelt, and wonders if he has been to Twolegplace.
    • She hastens to follow him, but is scolded by Stormtail for sending rocks flying.
  • Pinestar returns to camp just then, his pelt smooth and smelling like bracken.
    • Bluefur knows it was to hide the scent of catmint and Twoleg's.
  • Pinestar goes to the nursery to see his kits and Leopardfoot for the first time since their birth.
    • Bluefur notices that she wasn't the only one questioning Pinestar's loyalty.

  • Sunfall decides that Bluefur is ready to lead a patrol.
    • He assigns Adderfang, Thistlepaw, Smallear, and Robinwing to a hunting patrol with Bluefur leading them.
  • She tells them that they will go to Snakerocks.
    • Thistlepaw complains when they take the long route, and is about to head in a different direction when Bluefur points out thick brambles in his way.
  • Along the way, Bluefur stops to hunt a thrush, but Thistlepaw meows loudly, scaring it away.
    • Adderfang scolds him, but Thistlepaw flashes a sly smile at Bluefur.
  • When they reach Snakerocks, she assigns Thistlepaw to guard duty.
    • He gives off several false alarms to annoy her.
  • A dog suddenly appears, running towards them.
    • Thistlepaw yowls a warning, and all the cats make it to safety.
  • As they go back to camp, they hear the dog running towards them again.
    • The warriors decide to use the rabbit to get the dog away from camp.
  • Thistlepaw runs back, though and fights the dog off, sending it back to its Twolegs.
  • The Clan hear of what happened, and praise Thistlepaw for driving off the dog on his own.
  • Pinestar has Thistlepaw's warrior ceremony for his achievement, naming him Thistleclaw.
    • Sunfall tosses prey to all the cats, saying that it was time for a feast.
  • That night, Bluefur notices Snowfur fast asleep, as close as possible to Thistleclaw.
    • Wistfully, she asks herself that if Snowfur had to have a mate, why it couldn't be a cat she liked.

  • Poppydawn cries out that Sweetpaw won't wake up, waking Bluefur up. Bluefur immediately knows that the apprentice is dead.
  • Tigerkit ventures out of the nursery to see what was happening, but Swiftbreeze takes him back inside.
  • Bluefur, Lionpaw, Rosepaw, Tawnyspots, and Swiftbreeze go on dawn patrol along with Sunfall.
    • Sunfall tells Bluefur that life must go on and the fresh kill pile must be stocked.
  • He announces that he smells RiverClan, and Swiftbreeze reports that they have crossed the border.
  • Sunfall says they will attack when the backup patrol gets there, and sends Lionpaw to fetch Pinestar.
    • Meanwhile, the RiverClan warriors get caught in brambles, but carry on leaving marks on ThunderClan territory.
  • Stormtail, Thistleclaw, Fuzzypelt, Snowfur, Windflight, Patchpelt and Thrushpelt arrive and attack along with the dawn patrol.
  • Snowfur and Bluefur save Rosepaw from two RiverClan warriors during the fighting.
    • Shellheart eventually yells for RiverClan's retreat.
  • When they get back to the camp, Sunfall asks where Pinestar is.
    • Stormtail reports that nobody has seen him.

  • Sunfall announces to the Clan that RiverClan had been driven off.
  • Sweetpaw has been placed in the center of the clearing so the Clan could pay their respects.
  • Featherwhisker coaxes his mentor to chew some comfrey into pulp while he checks the cats for wounds.
    • He tells Snowfur to wash in the stream, as licking RiverClan blood off will make her queasy.
  • Pinestar comes back, and Sunfall asks him where he's been.
    • He does not answer at first, and asks if they won the battle. Sunfall does a brief report, and then Pinestar calls for a Clan meeting.
  • Pinestar announces he is going to go and live among Twolegs as a kittypet. Tension springs up in the Clan.
  • Pinestar prepares to leave and entrusts Sunfall as leader of ThunderClan.
    • He bids goodbye to his mate and his kits, especially Tigerkit.
  • Before he leaves, he goes over to Lionpaw and tells the apprentice that he was right in saying that Pinestar had to tell the Clan himself.
    • He tells Lionpaw to tell Sunfall that he would have named him Lionheart.
      • He then leaves through the gorse tunnel.
  • Sunfall promises to travel to the Moonstone, and Featherwhisker says he will go with him, showing that he is more than ready to take Goosefeather's place as full medicine cat.
  • Goosefeather voices his fears that StarClan will not accept Sunfall, but Sunfall promises to make them understand, and that they will not abandon them in these troubled times.

  • ThunderClan welcomes Sunfall, now Sunstar, into camp, by his new name.
    • Bluefur notices that Goosefeather isn't joining in.
  • Tawnyspots is named deputy of ThunderClan.
  • Rosepaw has her warrior ceremony, and becomes Rosetail.
  • Bluefur is shocked when she overhears Thistleclaw whispering his ambitions of becoming leader to Snowfur.
    • She vows not to let him gain the leadership.
  • Thrushpelt makes a joke about Thistleclaw and Snowfur, but it offends Bluefur.
  • Snowfur tells Bluefur that she is expecting kits.
    • Bluefur attempts to cover up her astonishment and dismay, but fails.
  • She remembers that if Snowfur was happy, their mother Moonflower would be happy, and promises herself that she'll be happy too.

  • A couple of moons later, Bluefur alerts Robinwing, who is also expecting kits, to get Featherwhisker as Snowfur's kits were coming.
  • Featherwhisker sends Thistleclaw away to get Snowfur some moss soaked in water.
  • Bluefur exits the nursery to find a short, stumpy stick.
    • She gives it to Snowfur to bite down on when spasms of pain come.
  • Thistleclaw arrives with the moss and is sent back out by Featherwhisker for more.
  • A sharp pain comes, and Snowfur gives birth to her single white tom-kit.
  • Whitekit opens his eyes the next morning.
    • Tigerkit takes Whitekit out of the den while Bluefur supervises.
  • Stonepelt vaguely refers to the time Bluefur and Snowfur went into the warriors' den while he was sleeping, when they were kits, by telling her to keep Whitekit out of the warriors den.
  • A half-moon later, Frostkit and Brindlekit are born to Robinwing.
    • Tigerkit and Whitekit take the two new kits out of the nursery for the first time.
  • It is revealed that, like Pinestar had predicted, the warrior code has been extended to reject the life of a kittypet.
  • Goosefeather verbally attacks Tigerkit, yowling, "Get away, you vermin!"
    • Shocked, Bluefur confronts him, but he doesn't listen.
      • Goosefeather disgustingly shouts, "Keep that creature away from me!" suggesting that he knows something about Tigerkit's future.

  • Snowfur begins to miss being a warrior.
  • Bluefur finds Thrushpelt watching Goldenpaw as she climbs a tree higher than Dappletail, her mentor, would have allowed.
  • She goes to the RiverClan border.
    • She sees Oakheart on ThunderClan's side of the river, curling up to sleep.
      • Bluefur charges at him, but Oakheart doesn't look guilty at being caught.
  • Angry, she attacks him, but he ducks, and Bluefur manages to nip his hind leg, while Oakheart shoves her with his head.
    • Bluefur falls into the river, and thinks she is drowning until Oakheart suggests standing up.
  • He leaves finally after Bluefur threatens him, promising that he would remember her.
  • Bluefur races away, and bumps into Rosetail.
    • Rosetail comments on how Bluefur looked different, that she looked 'moony'.
      • Rosetail eagerly asks if it was Thrushpelt, but Bluefur fiercely denies that it was, though she is surprised by the suggestion.
      • Rosetail then tells her that a visit to the nursery would cheer Snowfur up, who has practically shredded her nest.
  • She goes to the nursery, and finds Snowfur looking harassed as Frostkit and Brindlekit played around her.
    • Whitekit then wakes up and Tigerkit immediately engages him in a game.
  • Bluefur, with the help of Robinwing and Leopardfoot, convinces Snowfur to leave the nursery and go for a walk.

  • Bluefur and Snowfur continue on their walk.
    • Snowfur begins a mock battle with Bluefur, but Snowfur stops it when blackberries get on her pelt.
      • Bluefur takes her to the river to get clean, and to make sure Oakheart had not returned.
  • She wonders why she is disappointed to see that he wasn't there.
  • Snowfur wonders aloud if RiverClan would invade again.
    • Bluefur tells her that she hoped not, as battles were dangerous.
  • Snowfur becomes suspicious at Bluefur's reluctance, asking where her loyalty had gone.
    • Bluefur retorts that she chased a RiverClan cat out of their territory only that morning.
      • Snowfur then asks why she didn't report Oakheart.
  • Snowfur growls at how arrogant Oakheart was, and Bluefur jumps to his defense too quickly.
    • Snowfur shouts in astonishment that she liked him.
  • She immediately points out that Bluefur isn't allowed to have a mate in another Clan.
    • Bluefur retorts that she didn't even want a mate, or to end up stuck in the nursery suckling kits.
  • Furious, Snowfur turns and races away from her, with Bluefur following.
  • When she catches up to Snowfur, she finds that her sister had scented ShadowClan on their territory.
    • They see three ShadowClan cats hunting on ThunderClan territory.
  • Snowfur jumps out, startling the three cats.
    • She attacks them, Bluefur following to help.
  • The three cats turn and flee, across the Thunderpath, and to their territory.
    • Snowfur follows them, caught up in the moment.
  • A monster comes along the Thunderpath, hitting Snowfur.

  • Bluefur hurries over to Snowfur's body. Over and over again, she tells Snowfur to get up.
  • A patrol comes with Adderfang, Dappletail, Windflight, Thrushpelt, and White-eye.
    • Adderfang orders Thrushpelt to check for ShadowClan and then carries Snowfur's body home.
      • Bluefur tries to convince herself that Snowfur is only hurt. However, she knows that her sister was dead.
  • Adderfang lays Snowfur's body in camp. He tells Bluefur that she must tell Whitekit.
  • Bluefur goes to the nursery to tell him, refusing to let Thistleclaw tell Whitekit.
    • Whitekit asks where Snowfur is when he sees Bluefur. She tells him that Snowfur will never return.
  • Robinwing promises to feed him, but Whitekit refuses, running over to Snowfur's body.
  • Thistleclaw blames Bluefur for Snowfur's death, and Bluefur sadly agrees.
    • Stormtail arrives, and forces Thistleclaw to leave, telling him that yelling won't help any cat.
  • Stormtail tells Bluefur that life goes on, and that she still has her Clanmates.
  • Bluefur feels angry towards StarClan for taking Snowfur away from her.

  • Lionpaw and Goldenpaw are now warriors with the names Lionheart and Goldenflower.
  • Swiftbreeze had kitted, giving birth to Redkit, Spottedkit, and Willowkit.
  • Bluefur is sitting around camp, still mourning Snowfur, when Tawnyspots approaches her.
    • He tells her that she would be coming to the Gathering that night.
    • He also tells her to stop moping around camp, and start spending time with Whitekit again.
  • On the way to the Gathering, Featherwhisker speaks to Bluefur.
    • He tells her that Snowfur would be watching her, and would never stop looking out for her or Whitekit.
      • He goes on to tell her, that while Whitekit had Thistleclaw, he needed Bluefur to teach him softness and loyalty from the heart.
  • Oakheart greets Bluefur when ThunderClan reaches the Gathering.
    • He apologizes for her loss of Snowfur, saying he would be lost if anything happened to Crookedjaw.
  • Bluefur leaves him, nearly crashing into Goldenflower.
  • As the Gathering begins, Cedarstar announces Yellowfang as ShadowClan's new medicine cat, along with Sagewhisker.
    • Bluefur sees Raggedpelt looking at Yellowfang through narrowed eyes, and sees her shoot him a sharp look.
  • As Hailstar begins his report, he steps back, saying that Oakheart wanted to tell the Clans something.
    • Oakheart jumps up on the Great Rock and tells the Clans about how Twolegs moved onto their land, and tells them they have a plan if they came too near RiverClan's camp.
  • Bluefur is annoyed to see that Rosetail had taken a liking to Oakheart.
  • As the Gathering ends, Bluefur hurries away but Sunstar catches up to her.
    • He tells her that he was pleased that she chose to come, and that he wished she would choose to help her Clan, rather than be a burden.
      • Before he leaves, he tells her that ThunderClan might need her gifts one day.
  • Bluefur remembers Goosefeather's prophecy about fire.

  • Bluefur has a nightmare. She dreams that a gust of wind brings her over to the edge of the gorge.
    • Looking down, she sees a mass of white fur in the raging water.
  • Bluefur sees that it is Snowfur, and hears her sister calling out, "Whitekit!"
    • She sees Whitekit farther down the gorge.
  • Bluefur races to the end of the gorge, and wades into the water in time to save Whitekit.
  • She wakes up suddenly, and hurriedly goes down to the nursery.
    • She wraps herself around Whitekit, who is excited to see her.
      • He falls asleep on her flank until morning, waking up to say that he had dreamed she would come to see him.
  • Thistleclaw arrives in the nursery, and is immediately annoyed to see Bluefur there.
    • He tells her that she is needed for a patrol, and then takes Whitekit aside.
      • Bluefur is shocked to see him teaching Whitekit such an advanced battle move.
  • Sunstar assigns her to a hunting patrol with Thistleclaw.
  • The two go to the Tree-cut Place
    • Thistleclaw disappears, but then reappears, yowling about a kittypet invasion.
  • He crosses out of ThunderClan territory, with Bluefur following.
    • All she can smell is the faint scent of a kit, and tries to convince him just to go back to hunting.
  • Thistleclaw accuses Bluefur of being disloyal, and too soft, saying that he needed proof that she was before he let her near Whitekit.

  • Bluefur leaves, angered by Thistleclaw's threats, and heads back to camp.
    • She goes straight to the nursery to see Whitekit.
      • She sees that he was asleep, and leaves the nursery.
  • Thrushpelt comes over, asking how the hunting went.
    • He tells her that she has done a good job with Whitekit.
  • Feeling uncomfortable, Bluefur leaves him and goes to Rosetail.
    • She tells her what a great couple she and Thrushpelt make.
      • Bluefur denies that anything was happening between her and Thrushpelt.
  • She is then shocked to hear that Thistleclaw had been proclaiming that he would be ThunderClan's youngest deputy.
  • Sunstar calls a Clan meeting.
    • He makes Tigerkit an apprentice, and Thistleclaw becomes his mentor.
    • He also performs a ceremony to move Poppydawn to the elders' den.
      • Sunstar finishes by appointing Adderfang as the temporary deputy while Tawnyspots was ill.
  • Goosefeather requests that Bluefur gather herbs with him, and takes her out into the forest.
    • He asks her if she has thought anymore on the prophecy.
    • He goes on, telling her that Tawnyspots wouldn't die yet, and there was still time for her to become deputy if she concentrated on nothing else.
  • Goosefeather then sends Bluefur back to camp.
  • She meets up with Thrushpelt again near the fresh-kill pile.
    • He starts talking about who would be the next deputy after Tawnyspots, but shows no ambition himself, frustrating Bluefur as she thought of Oakheart.
  • She leaves him, and goes over to Rosetail.
    • Rosetail points out that she had never seen a cat as disappointed as Thrushpelt.
  • Tigerpaw returns to camp and shows a battle move he had learned.
    • All of the cats admire him, while Goosefeather apologizes to StarClan, saying that Tigerpaw should never have survived.
    • Startled, Bluefur wonders if Tigerpaw should have died.

  • Bluefur plays with Robinwing's kits.
  • Sunstar sends her on border patrol with Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw.
    • They find Tiny on ThunderClan territory.
      • At Thistleclaw's encouragement, Tigerpaw attacks Tiny and almost kills him, but Bluefur stops him.
  • She vows never to let Thistleclaw take over ThunderClan.

  • Whitepaw receives his warrior name, Whitestorm.
  • Tigerpaw is also a warrior, Tigerclaw.
    • Whitestorm's mentor had been Patchpelt instead of Bluefur.
      • Bluefur is mentor to Frostpaw.
    • Thistleclaw had established himself as a senior warrior and so has Tigerclaw.
  • Bluefur visits Larksong to tell her about the ceremony as she had promised.
    • Larksong advises Bluefur to live her own life, now that she had fulfilled her promise to Snowfur.
    • Bluefur wonders if the old she-cat wants her to take Thrushpelt for a mate.
  • Tawnyspots sends her on a hunting patrol with Lionheart, Goldenflower, and Thrushpelt.
  • Bluefur sees Oakheart at the RiverClan border.
    • He compliments her on her catch.
  • Bluefur rejoins the hunting patrol, where Thrushpelt also compliments her.
    • Bluefur notices how his praise meant little compared to Oakheart's.

  • Sunstar announces that it was time to retake Sunningrocks.
    • He explains that they will do so without a fight, but that they will tell RiverClan this.
  • Sunstar takes Featherwhisker, Tawnyspots, Lionheart, Whitestorm, Thrushpelt, Adderfang, Stormtail, and Bluefur with him to RiverClan.
    • They meet a RiverClan patrol with Crookedjaw leading it, RiverClan's new deputy.
  • At the RiverClan camp, Sunstar announces that Sunningrocks was now ThunderClan's.
    • He tells them they will set the new markers tomorrow.
  • As the patrol leaves, Oakheart stops Bluefur.
    • He tells her that he can't stop thinking about her and wants to know everything about her.
    • Oakheart asks Bluefur to meet him tomorrow at moonhigh near Fourtrees.

  • Bluefur tells Frostpaw that they're going hunting.
    • Tawnyspots orders Bluefur to stay in camp, remembering how she had gotten a thorn in her paw, an excuse to speak with Oakheart.
    • Stormtail offers to take Frostpaw out with Brindlepaw.
  • Bluefur stays in camp and works on the nursery instead.
  • At dusk, a patrol goes out to set new markers at Sunningrocks.
    • Bluefur stays with White-eye in the nursery.
  • The patrol returns after setting the new markers.
    • Thistleclaw announces that RiverClan never showed up.
  • Bluefur finally decides to see Oakheart and sneaks out of camp at moonhigh.
    • She thinks how she was a traitor for doing this, but keeps moving.
  • Moonflower and Snowfur come to Bluefur, silently telling her to go back.
    • Bluefur brushes past them, insisting that she had to do this.

  • Bluefur is delighted to see that Oakheart had waited for her.
    • She panics when they can't think of anything to say and doubts that she should‘ve come, but then starts a race to the top of an oak.
  • Oakheart tells her that RiverClan can't climb trees, so Bluefur shows him how.
  • When she teases him, he promises to get her back by teaching her how to swim.
  • Moonflower and Snowfur appear to Bluefur to remind her where her loyalties lie.
  • Bluefur and Oakheart decide to spend the night at Fourtrees and build a nest for themselves.

  • Bluefur and Oakheart return to their Clans.
    • Bluefur promises to Moonflower and Snowfur that she wouldn't meet Oakheart like that again.
  • Sunstar assigns Goldenflower to lead Bluefur, Thrushpelt, and Patchpelt to check the Twoleg border.
    • It is revealed that Tawnyspots is sick again, but worse this time.
  • Thrushpelt tries to compliment Bluefur on her hunting techniques.
    • She wonders why he sounds so annoying and his enthusiasm clumsy.
  • Back at camp, the cats begin to wonder if Tawnyspots will recover.
    • Thistleclaw announces that it is time for him to be deputy.

  • ThunderClan returns from a Gathering.
    • Leopardfoot tells Bluefur that Hailstar lost his ninth life to a rat bite, and Crookedstar was leader now.
    • Bluefur is confused to hear that Crookedstar had passed up his own brother and given the deputy position to Timberfur.
  • Leopardfoot goes on to say that a new ShadowClan apprentice, Brokenpaw had gotten into a fight and Oakheart had broken them up.
  • She suddenly tells Bluefur that she knows that Bluefur is expecting kits.
    • Bluefur is horrified by this, and Rosetail excitedly asks if the father was Thrushpelt.
      • Bluefur begs her not to say anything to him about the kits.
  • She goes to Sunstar to be excused from patrols.
  • Bluefur goes out to the RiverClan border and sees Oakheart with Owlfur and Ottersplash.
    • Oakheart sends his Clanmates away and speaks with Bluefur.
  • He is shocked to hear that she is going to have his kits.
    • He tells her that it would work out, that she could come to RiverClan, or he ThunderClan.
      • He reveals that this had happened to Windflight, who was half WindClan.
  • Bluefur tells him that she will raise the kits alone in ThunderClan and keep their father hidden.
    • Oakheart says that the kits would always be his and that he still loved Bluefur.

  • Rosetail tells Thrushpelt that he was the father of Bluefur's kits.
    • He confronts Bluefur, and she is mortified, but tells him that he wasn't.
  • He then offers to tell the Clan that he is the father.
  • They hear a screech, and find Oakheart being attacked by Thistleclaw and Tigerclaw.
    • Bluefur begs that they let Oakheart go, to which Thistleclaw points out that it wasn't a kit, but an enemy warrior.
  • As she sees blood, Bluefur shoves the warriors off of Oakheart.
    • Thistleclaw demands to know if she knew the RiverClan warrior, to which Bluefur denies.
  • Just before a ThunderClan patrol arrives, Thistleclaw goes insane for a moment, saying that the borders had to be marked with the blood of their enemies.
  • Bluefur tries to tell Sunstar about Thistleclaw's cruelty and her worries about his ambition.
    • Sunstar cuts her off, saying that she shouldn't get involved in border skirmishes until her kits are born.
  • He goes on, telling Bluefur that he had hoped that she would follow in his footsteps, but there was another warrior who could someday lead the clan. He looks at Thistleclaw while saying this.
    • Bluefur is very shocked, and can't let Thistleclaw lead ThunderClan.

  • Bluefur is close to having her kits, being watched on by the other queens.
    • Featherwhisker shows his new apprentice, Spottedpaw, how to feel for contractions, just before the kits are born.
  • Snowfur comes to Bluefur, helping her through the kitting.
  • White-eye had given birth to Runningkit and Mousekit.
  • Goosefeather had retired to the elders' den finally.
  • Half a moon later, in the middle of a harsh leaf-bare, Bluefur's kits are playing in the clearing when a hunting patrol returns with almost nothing.
  • Goosefeather tells Bluefur that he saw her and Oakheart by Fourtrees, and that Oakheart should take the kits because fire must burn without bonds.
    • She asks Featherwhisker how Tawnyspots was doing, and he steadily confirms that he was not getting better.
    • Bluefur looks over at Thistleclaw and sees a vision of him drenched in blood.
    • Goosefeather confirms that he had seen this as well.
  • At the Gathering, Bluefur finds Oakheart.
    • He proudly asks how the kits are and what they looked like.
  • Bluefur tells him that she can't keep the kits and that he must take them.
    • He hesitates, but agrees to take them at Sunningrocks the next night.

  • Bluefur wakes up Mistykit, Stonekit, and Mosskit, and tells them that they are going to play 'Secret Escape.'
    • She leads them out of the nursery, and then, camp, and into the forest.
  • Bluefur wants her kits to remember the forest, and teaches them the hunting crouch.
  • Halfway there, all three kits began to tire, saying that they no longer wanted to play.
    • Bluefur digs a hole in the ground to shelter her kits from the wind, then goes and digs another a little farther away.
    • The kits become frightened until Bluefur comes back.
  • Bluefur promises that she will always come back to them, but chokes, knowing it was a lie.
  • She then digs holes all the way to Sunningrocks, moving the kits to each one.
  • Bluefur is horrified to see that Mosskit wouldn't wake up and was dead.
    • Snowfur appears and promises to take care of Mosskit.
  • Bluefur lets her remaining kits sleep a while longer, and goes to make sure Oakheart's waiting.
    • She takes Mistykit and Stonekit to meet Oakheart.
  • Oakheart asks where the third kit was, and Bluefur chokes out "dead" before running off.
    • Stonekit and Mistykit call after her, asking where she was going and if she was coming back for them.
  • Bluefur slips back into the nursery, tearing a hole in the back, before calling an alarm that her kits were gone.

  • Adderfang asks Bluefur if she'd like to join a hunting patrol.
  • Bluefur remembers the past moon; how the nursery had been fortified with extra brambles and two warriors sat guard because the Clan had believed her story about a fox stealing her kits.
  • She feels guilty, wondering if Mosskit hates her for giving up her life.
  • She goes hunting alone, catching a squirrel. Goosefeather finds her, and he knows that her two kits are alive. He tells her that her loss is small compared to the fate of her Clan.
    • Bluefur promises to serve her Clan, but she will never stop regretting what she has done. She goes to find Sunstar, who is looking for her.
  • He walks with her, and shows her that life goes on. They stop, and Sunstar asks if she will take on the deputyship.
    • Bluefur tells him she's ready.
  • A little later, Sunstar performs two ceremonies; one retiring Tawnyspots to the elders' den, and the other making Bluefur the new deputy.
    • Thistleclaw yowls loudly in support, but his eyes are gleaming with fury.
  • Bluefur speaks to Sunstar in his den, saying she's ready to learn.
    • While they are being honest with each other, he shares with her that StarClan gave him only eight lives, as Pinestar still had his ninth life.
  • Bluefur tells him she will give every breath in her body to serve her Clan, though regret tugs at her belly. But she knows that she is fire, and that is the path she must follow.

  • Featherwhisker is seen taking Bluefur to the Moonstone for her new name and nine lives.
  • Bluefur remembers how Sunstar had died, after being weakened by illness, he had been unable to outrun a dog that had roaming the forest.
    • She also remembers the slow, agonizing death of Tawnyspots.
  • Bluefur falls asleep at the Moonstone, and wakes up, finding herself at Fourtrees.
    • Cats of StarClan begin to appear before her, and she recognizes Pinestar and Snowfur among them, along with Moonflower and Mosskit.
  • Pinestar steps forward, and gives her the gift of compassion.
    • A jolt of pain goes through Bluefur, but fades away.
  • Mumblefoot gives her the gift of endurance
  • Larksong gives her the gift of humor.
  • Sweetpaw gives her the gift of hope.
  • Sunstar gives her the gift of courage, stating that she would know how to use it.
  • Goosefeather approaches next, giving Bluefur the gift of patience.
  • After him, Mosskit gives Bluefur the gift of trust to believe in herself and her Clan.
  • Moonflower steps forward then, giving her daughter the gift of love to cherish her Clan like she did her kits.
  • Bluefur's ninth life is from Snowfur, as her sister gives her the gift of pride.
    • She thanks Bluestar for raising Whitestorm, and tells her that she was chosen a long time ago to lead her Clan.

  • Bluestar sits on the Highrock with Redtail, her deputy.
  • Bluestar notices a fourth apprentice, Ravenpaw, busy stripping a leaf from its stem.
    • She remembers how nervous Ravenpaw had been from the moment he had been born, and how she had given him Tigerclaw for a mentor in hopes that he would learn to be a fearless warrior.
  • Redtail asks if she remembers her first moon of training.
    • Bluestar nods, and remembers how many cats had gone since then.
      • She also thinks of Thistleclaw, and how he had died as he lived, chasing RiverClan intruders over the border and being found in a pool of blood.
  • She thinks of how proud she was of Mistyfoot and Stonefur, and of Oakheart and Graypool for raising them so well.
  • Bluestar points out how old she was getting, because her white hairs, some of which she blames on Thistleclaw.
    • Because of him, Bluestar has lied to her Clan about her remaining lives.
  • Just then, she sees Spottedleaf emerge from her den, now the sole medicine cat since Featherwhisker's death from greencough.
  • The medicine cat had taken care of White-eye, now One-eye, when she had lost her blind eye completely, and Sparrowpelt, now Halftail, who had lost the end of his tail to a badger.
  • She then thinks of the countless battles over Sunningrocks, how they had both won and lost, and forced to run back to a camp that held too many elders and too few apprentices.

  • The evening of a particularly bad battle against RiverClan over Sunningrocks, Bluestar sits alone in the clearing of camp.
    • Spottedleaf joins her and tells her the Mousefur will recover.
  • A shooting star passes overhead suddenly.
    • Spottedleaf tells Bluestar that it was a sign from StarClan: "Fire alone can save our Clan."
  • Uneasily, Bluestar admits that she was once the fire who would save the Clan.
  • A moon passes, and Bluestar travels through the forest with Whitestorm.
    • He tells her that she has been a good leader, strong and fair.
  • As they near Twolegplace, Bluestar sees a ginger kittypet tom crouched on a fence, staring out into the forest with interest in his green eyes.
    • She and Whitestorm watch as he stalks a blackbird, but misses.
    • Bluestar thinks that he may be the fire Spottedleaf had spoken of.
  • Back at camp, she tells Spottedleaf of the kittypet.
    • She tells the medicine cat that she will have Graypaw stalk him and see how the kittypet will react, and if he showed promise, she will invite him to the Clan.
    • Spottedleaf tells her that he will pass every test set for him, that Bluestar would choose him, and never regret it.
  • Bluestar feels Snowfur's scent around her, and silently tells Goosefeather that he was right - a fire would blaze through the forest after all.
