[edit] Firestar's Quest
- Cherrytail starts out as a kittypet named Cherry who lived with her brother Boris in a Twoleg Nest near the gorge. Often, they visited the gorge to bully and make fun of Skywatcher, calling him Moony because of the way he stared at the full moon. She and her brother later apologized for this when they found out who Skywatcher was when they joined SkyClan.
- When Firestar came to the gorge, they believed that he was Skywatcher and bullied him too, leaving crowfood in the den where Sandstorm and Firestar slept and calling him names. When Firestar saw them jump very high, he realized that they had SkyClan blood, and invited them into SkyClan. Though reluctant at first to leave her old owners, Cherry was soon very enthusiastic about becoming a Clan cat, and chose to join SkyClan.
- Firestar found out that she and Sparrowpaw had been taking cream from their former owners, and he explained to them that they couldn't keep doing that and also be part of SkyClan, so remorsefully, they stopped.
- After Scratch and Clover join the clan, Boris has and idea that would let more cats know about SkyClan. He suggests that they have a meeting at the Rockpile, and that Firestar could tell any cats that they could find all about SkyClan, and how it would work if they joined. Boris and Cherry lead into Twolegplace to tell their old Kittypet friends about the meeting. First, they lead him to a cat named Oscar, who was very mean, and rejected their offer, but said he might come to the meeting. (He comes to the meeting, but instead of considering, he is just rude). They then lead Firestar to one of their old friends, Bella. When they talk to Bella, Firestar is instantly reminded of his sister Princess. She said that she couldn't possibly leave her housefolk, but she wishes them luck, saying that she hopes they enjoy their new life. Boris and Cherry take Firestar to meet Hutch, but Boris warns him about a dog that lives with Hutch. Hutch is very friendly, and said that he would come to the meeting. Boris and Cherry ask if they can have some of his cream. But Firestar says that it's either cream, or SkyClan. Reluctantly, they say goodbye to Hutch and take them to meet Lily and Rose, twin siamese cats. They tell them that they couldn't possibly live in a cave with no warm blanket or creamed chicken. Boris shruggs telling him it was worth a try. After leaving Lily and Rose's garden, they hear Boris and Cherry's old twolegs calling them from a distance. Boris sadly tells Firestar that they would really miss their twolegs, and Cherry asks if that was wrong. Firestar tells them it wasn't wrong to miss their twolegs, but that they had to choose. Boris meows determinedly that they have chosen, and then they lead Firestar out of Twolegplace. On their way back to the gorge, they meet the brown rouge that Firestar had fought with earlier. Firestar atempts to invite him into the clan, but the rouge spats at him and tells him that he wouldn't want Firestar ordering him around.
- Boris and Cherry come to the meeting, and after Hutch doesn't show up, they begin arguing about whether they should have stopped by his house or not. But he shows up after that. After the meeting is over, Cherry spoke up saying that she and Boris would join the clan. Only a few of the gathered cats decided to join, including two rouges named Patch and Leaf. After the rest had left, only Hutch and Oscar remained. Boris and Cherry persuaded Hutch to join, but Oscar said he had only come to hear what stupid ideas Firestar had come up with. Boris and Cherry get very angry with him, but he just leaves.
- They later receive their full apprentice names, Sparrowpaw and Cherrypaw. Scratch, Leaf, Sky, Hutch Clover and Patch all receive their warrior names, Sharpclaw, Leafdapple, Skywatcher, Shortwhisker, Clovertail and Patchfoot. Firestar gives Sparrowpaw to Leafdapple to mentor, and Cherrypaw is given to Sharpclaw.
- The night Skywatcher dies, Sparrowpaw and Cherrypaw told Firstar that they wished that they had told him sorry for calling him names. They sit vigil with him, but fall asleep.
- Cherrypaw was given to Sharpclaw to be mentored, and fought in the battle with the rats with the rest of SkyClan. Afterward, Leafstar made her a full warrior with the name of Cherrytail, and gave her Rockpaw to mentor. Her brother, Sparrowpaw, became Sparrowpelt. Cherrytail is bouncy and eager; and seems happy to be a full member of SkyClan.
