Children of StarClan: Champions of the Forest is a Play-By-Post Role Playing Game set in Erin Hunter's Warriors universe and geared towards the more mature roleplayer. CoSC accepts players of most writing levels (we expect basic writing skills and the ability to manage 2-3 sentence minimum posts) and any level of roleplay skill above beginner (CoSC is not geared or equipped to properly teach fundamental beginning roleplay skills, we expect you to come with them).
CoSC players are free to create a Clan cat, kittypet, or loner in a world where the kittypet once known as Rusty never set foot. Here, the happenings of the books don't exist and the forest itself is a harsher place with a more visceral, tribal vibe. This revised Warriors universe is one in which actions against the code and clan have consequences and modern human morals don't play into the choices the cats make.
Category: Modified Canon Games
Alternate History: Events of either book series are considered never to have happened. 4th great clan has been canonized. Established and maintained world history is in place. Custom legends and myths.
Other Staff: Fernwhisker, Heather, Kazul, Web, & Miss Mouse
Founders: Kitsufox, Silith (Retired from Staff)
Level: Any, so long as you can get a character through creation (a challenging prospect: we expect 0 powerplaying and quality writing.)
A Short Disclaimer
Children of StarClan is not your Mother's Warriors Role Playing Game. CoSC is more like the Warriors World of the original series with the harshness controller turned up to the max. A lone cat isn't going to tackle a fox on it's own. A cat who breaks the code as a grown warrior will loose face, not be a hero for it. Soft and squishy is gone. Love doesn't heal all wounds or justify treachery.
If you've always wished you could reach into the world of warriors and slap a traitor... if you've always wanted to see Clans that don't lean on StarClan for all things... If you've wanted to experience tribal life, then CoSC is the game for you.
If you don't want your warriors more vicious and traditional, you might be better off finding another game. I won't lie to you. CoSC is not your mother's Warriors. It is not for everyone.
In the World of the Clan Cats
- Each clan must find a way to face its foe, -
Nearly three years have come and gone since the Great War drew to a close over the mewling of a star-marked kit. After a peaceful green-leaf many dangers have also come and gone from the forest. Sair Fen, commonly called the Killer, stalked the clan territories taking lives and eating cats as pleased. The unstoppable Killingcough Plague raged through the Clans, slaying without discrimination until it burned itself into nothingness. But for the most part the moons have been forgiving and the run of prey generous. Until now, when StarClan once again has greeted the Medicine Cats with words of warning:
Just as it seemed that Lostgaze and the sizable rogue would be a minor hiccup as the clan prepared for the coming hard times a dark prophecy was carried home by the Medicine Cat. Within hours of the return from the Medicine Cat's meeting a cat was discovered missing, later to be found slain by a fox.
RiverClan suffered two shocks the previous moon. The first was the Otter, the prophesied Hunter lurking in the river, rising up and pulling fully-grown and battle ready Sleekstar into the depths. This shock was followed quickly by Cinderback returning from his trip to Highstones without 9 new lives to spend for his clan's benefit: Sleekstar was not dead, but beyond StarClan's help. Half a moon later the leader was found on the border dead and Cinderback was able to collect his lives and name Fernheart his deputy, but the shock remains over the state of the former leader's mutilated body and the rich scent of rogues that surrounded it despite the in-climate weather that prevented the killers from being tracked down beyond the clan's borders.
Greenleaf has helped WindClan recover from last year's Killingcough. While the clan still feels the effects of Blackstar's stance on Gatherings, the ranks are swelling with Owlfeather's newborn kits, Cedarkit and Willowkit. Fadedpaw and Whisperpaw have become warriors as Fadedwing and Whisperstream. However, the moon is not without tragedy, as Ashcloud has been slain by a badger.
During the Moon of Turning Leaves, the crane, prophesied and warned of by StarClan, look the lives of two of ShadowClan's finest: Fogdancer and Heathertail. Fogdancer's newly vacated seat as deputy was filled by Lilywhisker.
