Ravenpaw's Farewell[]
- Ravenpaw, Barley, Bella, and Riley are woken by five cats surrounding them. Ravenpaw studies them, noticing their hostility and that they are kittypets, not SkyClan warriors. Pasha asks if they swallowed their tongue and he comments he didn't think patrols could fall asleep. Ravenpaw demands to be left alone, certain they are too insulting to be a patrol and are just kittypet troublemakers. Pasha sarcastically says he is scary, pretending to fall back then leaning forward. He then explains he is joking and doesn't like Ravenpaw. He comments they do not smell like SkyClan, calling them fools. He notes they are scrawny enough to be wild cats and orders them to return where they came from. Barley challenges him, saying he has to make them.
- Pasha looks unsure at Barley's threatening stance, but another kittypet defends her friend. Bella says they are not going, they are warriors so they can fight, although it is a lie. Pasha spits the word warriors and claims they are not scared by them. He twitches his ears at Ravenpaw and tells him to run along, calling him squirrel-breath. Ravenpaw strikes Pasha’s ears and the kittypet is immediately angered, saying he will regret that. He starts stalking to Ravenpaw but one of his friends tells Pasha she is bored and asks to run through the gorge like they did the previous night, as it was fun. Pasha glares at Ravenpaw once more; threatening if he sees him again he'll regret it. He then whirls around to bound away, announcing to his friends to go surprise SkyClan again.
- Bella comments those kittypets were not nice and Barley says they do not seem nice to SkyClan either. He asks Ravenpaw if he thinks they will invade SkyClan camp. Ravenpaw believes they are more hot air than action or they would have hurt them while they were asleep. He reckons they will not be any more trouble tonight as their Twolegs will be expecting them at dawn. Barley stays awake to make sure they are not disturbed again and Ravenpaw thinks they are close to SkyClan borders, judging by the kittypet's words.
- During one of the raids by the kittypets, one of the kittypets teases some kits, saying they're poor little kits. He teases that they are too small to be away from their mother and Ravenpaw recognizes it as Pasha's voice, who is there alongside his friends from the previous night. SkyClan scares the kittypets back and Pasha yowls they will return, almost stepping on Ravenpaw who is hiding in the grass as he flees.
