History

In The New Prophecy arc

Dawn

Tumblekit is one of Dawnflower's kits, along with her brother, Pebblekit, and sister, Minnowkit, in RiverClan. She travels with the Clans to reach their new home by the lake.

As the Clans race across the Thunderpath, Dawnflower calls to one of her kits, who is panicking and running straight towards a monster. Crowpaw lunges forward to grab the kit before racing back to safety. The family makes it, with Crowpaw and the kit in tow. Dawnflower rushes over and gratefully takes her kit as Squirrelpaw calls for Leafpaw to check up on the kits. The medicine cat apprentice sniffs the two kits, listening to their chests to check for any breathing problems. Leafpaw announces that although they are scared and tired, they will be okay. Willowkit says they are going to be fine as the monster was never going to get them. Dawnflower doesn't take much notice to this, and instead washes the mud off her her kits' faces.

While crossing a Thunderpath, two RiverClan warriors help Dawnflower carry her kits. Later, Dawnflower suggests all the Clans sleep among each other when she stops Tumblekit from chasing after a woodlouse. In the mountains, an eagle tries to hunt some kits, but Brambleclaw sees this and herds Dawnflower and her kits to safety. Later with the Tribe, Cinderpelt checks on Tumblekit and her family after the eagle encounter. Tumblekit and the other kits are eager to meet the Tribe kits, and Dawnflower gives Tumblekit and her siblings permission to go with the others to venture around their temporary shelter.

Twilight

Tumblekit, Pebblekit, and Minnowkit sneak out of RiverClan's camp and encounter Twoleg poison, causing them to get sick. They bring the sickness and accidentally infect some members of RiverClan. When Leafpool arrives to assist Mothwing, she sees Tumblekit, though unnamed, in a very sick condition. While Pebblekit and Minnowkit are treated and survive, Tumblekit gets worse and dies. Mothwing is frantic at the news, wondering what Dawnflower will say when told. Leafpool advises her to not tell the dead kit's siblings, and to let Dawnflower comfort them the next day.

During her ceremony, Mothwing dreams of Dawnflower's kits growing healthy and strong.

• In Su Susann's "Missing Kits" on Vicky's Facebook, Voleclaw and Dawnflower were mates and Pebblefoot, Minnowtail, and Tumblekit were their kits. Tumblekit was also described as a plump, round faced, black tabby she-cat with green eyes.
