Weaselwhisker is a warrior of SkyClan under the leadership of Cloudstar. He takes part in a border patrol to investigate Twoleg activity, and as they arrive, Weaselwhisker exclaims in shock at the extent of the destruction. As a toppled tree blocks their path, Weaselwhisker yowls out to StarClan. When Cloudstar marks the border, Weaselwhisker asks if his leader truly thinks their scent will stop the Twolegs. Later, he is sunning himself in the camp when Cloudstar asks if the hunting patrols have returned. The brown-and-ginger tom replies that they have, and have gone out yet again. Cloudstar is dismayed at the meager amount of prey they caught, and Weaselwhisker explains that all the prey in the forest has fled.

He is assigned by the deputy, Buzzardtail, to lead Fernpelt, Stoatfur, and his apprentice, Acornpaw, on a hunting patrol along the river. Before they are able to leave, Cloudstar announces that they are to begin practicing battle moves. Weaselwhisker protests, saying that they cannot fight the Twolegs, but Cloudstar reveals that they're preparing to attack ThunderClan. During the battle, Weaselwhisker is the first to strike, disappearing into a flurry of fur and leaves. He is hauled away from the fray by Cloudstar, but dives back in to help Nightfur and Acornpaw against Nettleclaw; however, all three are thrown aside like thistledown.
