Floss is mentioned in Starlight as a cat that lives in Horseplace with Smoky and Daisy. Before this book she had kits (presumably fathered by Smoky) and the Twolegs took them away. When Daisy has her kits, Floss warns her to leave with the kits so that the Twolegs don't steal them. She is also one of the reasons Daisy left the Horseplace – she feels that Smoky loves Floss more than herself.

In Secrets of the Clans, it tells the story of how Floss's second litter of kits were taken from her by the Twolegs, although the story was told from Daisy's point of view.
