Hey everyone. As you may notice in the drop-down, the Goals page doesn't exist. There is a page of existing goals Warrior Cats Wiki/goals, but is old, unfinished, and I don't believe has ever been agreed upon by a community consensus. Many of our policies are fairly outdated or incomplete or generally just a pain to use, and I would like to work on them, revamping and merging many of the articles. The goals are typically the launching point of any organization when it comes to their policies, rules, and guidelines, so I will propose it first.

I have drafted a set of goals here. I found it easier to start from scratch. Please share your thoughts and opinions. -Rustle it takes a leap of faith20:24 Tue Feb 27 2018

I support the rules in the draft listed;; tbh the old page is just old and starting fresh is better. These cover all the points they need to, and would make a well-rounded set of wiki goals. spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 20:47, 2/27/2018

Great set of goals. JayI hope they remember you....ϟ 20:49, 2/27/2018

Great job whiskey, this looks like a really good start. I'm being a bit nitpicky, but something about the line "Warriors Wiki will provide completed articles on all aspects of the Warriors universe" seems off to me. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think it might be that the usage of "complete" is a bit vague. Perhaps "thorough," "detailed," or "comprehensive" could replace it instead, or something of that nature to make it a bit more clear.

Maybe also replace "well-written" in the mission statement with something more specific, since well-written is very subjective. I know well-written is used in places like wikipedia even, but perhaps something to do with being written in a professional manner in a way that's clear and makes sense when read might be better? I'm not sure exactly what wording would be used for that.

It's debatable whether this would fit the goals/mission statement or if it'd be better in the "About wwiki" page, but maybe there could be a line somewhere in the mission statement/general goals than emphasizes that the encyclopaedia is a collaboration, just because that's such a big part of wikia?

Like I said, these are all very nitpicky things. Overall it looks great and this update is very much needed and long overdue in my opinion. Paleh Send help 05:52,2/28/2018

I like "comprehensive" I'll add that I suppose.
Would "formally written" work better than "well-written"? Or even "It shall achieve its purpose through the use of articles written to the standards of the manual of style for the characters, the universe, the books, and the surrounding meta."
I tried to address this in the original paragraph. But perhaps I could add "...surrounding meta created by the collaborative effort of editors on the Wiki."

I think "formally written" sounds clear enough, but I wouldn't be against the second suggestion. And "created by the collaborative effort of the editors on the wiki" sounds perfect in my opinion! Paleh Send help 06:21,2/28/2018

Changes have been made. -Rustle it takes a leap of faith6:28 Wed Feb 28 2018

Looks good so far to me. ^^ I never actually realized how vague the original goals page was... Just have a couple questions: will this be continually updated as we come across new things? and I would think that each respective project would be able to edit this as they see fit to update/change/ect goals? Or is this meant to be a quick rundown? I'm more than likely missing the point of this and watching it go over my head. Jayce(06:32, 2/28/2018)

My idea for this set of goals was that it should remain relatively static and represent the constant overall goals of the wiki. Of course, if we ever feel like the goals of the wiki have changed, a discussion could be started to edit the goals and change them if we decide to do so like anything else on the wiki.

As for the projects, I tried to adapt the mission statement of each project to something that followed a more consistent formula for better reading. Again, that's something that if the mission statement of the project changes we could change it in the general goals. I would think stuff like "Bring 30 articles up to silver status this month" would be something that the projects should be responsible for. Like the Progress and Directions sections of PC and PB. The Project Mission section is mostly meant to justify the existence of the projects within the goals, if that makes sense. (And perhaps a to-be-written manual of style for the entire wiki.) -Rustle it takes a leap of faith6:47 Wed Feb 28 2018

Hey does anyone have any more feedback? -Rustle it takes a leap of faith18:03 Fri Mar 9 2018

Is there any objection to anything here? Do we want to go for a vote or should I just add it? -Rustle it takes a leap of faith16:55 Thu Mar 29 2018
