Mapleshade's Vengeance

Mapleshade wakes up to see a small black-and-white cat standing over her. The cat introduces himself as Myler, and tells her that he could care for her. Mapleshade feels disgusted at the thought of being cared for by a kittypet, so she abruptly leaves the farm without talking to the kittypet.
After Mapleshade kills Appledusk and faints, she wakes up in Myler's barn. Once again, Myler tells Mapleshade that he is there to tend to her, again. He presses himself against her, unflinching at the touch of her blood soaked fur.
Myler is horrified by the bleeding and asks Mapleshade if Clan cats had done this to her. When she replies yes, Myler is exasperated, saying the Clan cats will never get rid of their wild, bloody ways. Mapleshade hisses that she doesn't need Myler's help. Myler tells her that he thinks she is wrong, and walks away, not returning again.

Quotes

Myler: "There's too much, too much. Did a Clan cat do this to you? [...] Ah, there is no end to their wildness and thirst for blood. You should have left while you had the chance. [...] I'll stay with you. You're safe now."
Mapleshade: "Leave me alone. I don't need anyone."
Myler: "I think you are wrong."
