"Tigerstar's death hurts me. It feels as if a part of me just died with him. And yet ... I'm relieved, too. I don't have to lie to myself anymore. Pretend I didn't love him with all my heart. That was so hard ... and now I can just remember. Remember how kind and brave he was. And how much he taught me. Oh, Tigerstar ... I'll miss you. Always."
— Sasha in Return to the Clans, page 25

Sasha is a sleek-furred,[8] tawny-colored she-cat[9] with blue eyes,[10] and a dark tail and ears.[11]

Sasha was the former mate of Tigerstar and the mother of Hawkfrost, Mothwing, and Tadpole. Born a kittypet, Sasha became a rogue after the death of her housefolk, Ken and Jean. In the woods, she met Tigerstar, but the tom's bloodthirsty nature compelled Sasha to leave before the birth of their kits. Though she lived as a ship cat called Brownie and as a RiverClan warrior temporarily, neither life suited her, and Sasha chose to leave her children with the Clans to continue life as a wanderer.

The New Prophecy[]

"Nice enough. Quiet and ready to be friendly. A lot like Mothwing to look at. But it was clear that being among a lot of cats spooked her. I wasn't surprised when she left the forest as soon as Mothwing and Hawkfrost were old enough to do without her."
―Graystripe to Leafpaw about Sasha Moonrise, page 87
During the destruction of the forest territories, Sasha is captured by workfolk along with several other rogues and Clan cats, but they are freed by a ThunderClan patrol. She reveals that she intends to take Mothwing and Hawkfrost away from the Clans, citing the danger posed by the encroaching Twolegs. However, her children deny her request, and after bidding her kits farewell, she disappears into the forest.
TS-3-Part-2

Sasha's three kits were Tadpole, Hawk, and Moth

Tigerstar and Sasha[]

"I don't think this is about making life easier for warriors. I think this is about you wanting more power than you can have. And I don't want to be part of that. If you're really going to kill those cats, doesn't that mean you'd have to kill me too?"
―Sasha to Tigerstar Escape from the Forest, page 3
After leaving her life as a kittypet, Sasha is warned about the Clans by a fellow rogue named Pine. Soon after, she encounters a ShadowClan patrol, led by Tigerstar. Though he demands she leave their territory, Sasha listens with interest as he tells her about Clan life. The two begin to meet secretly, having fallen in love, though when Sasha learns of Tigerstar's treachery, she declines to join ShadowClan. She leaves Clan territory and temporarily works as a ship cat called Brownie and helping the Captain find a new purpose in his life. Upon discovering that she is expecting kits and rescuing Patch, an abandoned kit, from the river, Sasha leaves the Captain and Patch to raise her kits in the forest. She fears that ShadowClan might learn of the existence of her children, Moth, Hawk, and Tadpole, but her friend Russetfur informs Sasha of Tigerstar's death. Following Tadpole's sudden death in a flooded building, Sasha, Hawk, and Moth join RiverClan for protection, but Sasha decides to leave them there, believing that without her, the identity of their father could be kept secret.

Stand-Alone Manga[]

"Please don't tell the Clan! Feathertail, please. If any cat finds out that Tigerstar is Hawkpaw and Mothpaw's father, they won't be safe. Everything I've done has been to protect my kits. Please don't undo all of that."
―Sasha pleading with Feathertail A Shadow in RiverClan, page 98
ASIR-Part-2

Sasha befriended the RiverClan warrior Feathertail during her time in RiverClan

In A Shadow in RiverClan, Sasha and her kits join RiverClan and she befriends Feathertail after she rescues Hawk from drowning. Sasha helps Feathertail integrate herself into RiverClan, and is shocked to learn of Tigerstar's involvement in RiverClan, but Feathertail reassures Sasha that her kits are safe. Hawk and Moth are made apprentices and Sasha is pleased her kits are official members of the Clan. However, when she shares the truth about her kits' father, Feathertail is hurt and breaks ties with Sasha, but promises to keep her secret. Sasha leaves RiverClan out of fear of retribution against her kits, and Feathertail keeps her promise to protect Hawkpaw and Mothpaw.

Quotes[]

"But I'd rather be nothing than a murderer."
―Sasha Escape from the Forest, page 4

"Even with my kits here... sometimes I feel so alone... so old and helpless. I want Tigerstar back. I want Ken back. But the best I can hope for is just to make it through each day."
―Sasha Return to the Clans, page 29

"This is everything I've ever wanted for my kits! They'll have a whole Clan of cats to look out for them here. They'll belong! The life of a rogue cat is so hard...and now they won't ever have to face it."
―Sasha after her kits' apprentice ceremonies A Shadow in RiverClan, page 90

"Tigerstar never met his kits. He never knew I was expecting! Please don't punish them for what he did wrong. That's...that's what he tried to do to you, isn't it? Hurt you because of who your parents were? Please, Feathertail. We're friends, aren't we?"
―Sasha to Feathertail A Shadow in RiverClan, page 99

"I don't need time to recover. How dare they put me in here? If I could get out, I'd rip that Twoleg to shreds!"
―Sasha Dawn, page 63

Sasha: "StarClan! Do you Clan cats still believe in that nonsense after what’s happened to the forest?"
Leafpaw: "Of course we do!"
Sasha: "Well, say a prayer for me, little one. I think we’re all going to need as much help as we can get."
—Sasha and Leafpaw Dawn, pages 65-66

Firestar: "I have often wondered why a rogue would choose to leave her kits with a Clan."
Sasha: "Why would a Clan make a kittypet their leader? Not all cats are true to their birthright, Firestar. Some choose their own path."
Firestar: "Are you such a cat?"
Sasha: "Maybe. Maybe not. But I hope my kits are."
—Sasha and Firestar Dawn, page 145

"Nor I you. I have come to ask Hawkfrost and Mothwing to leave RiverClan and come with me. I've seen what the Twolegs are doing to your homes. It is no longer safe for them to stay with you."
―Sasha Dawn, page 228
