Chapter description[]
- Billystorm apologizes to Leafstar for putting her in danger. Leafstar returns the apology, and she asks how he can stand to live with Twolegs. The tom tells her that he loves his housefolk, to which Leafstar can't relate. They make their way back to the gorge, and Sharpclaw asks the daylight-warrior where Snookpaw is. Billystorm tells the deputy that his apprentice has been ill and his housefolk are keeping him inside. Leafstar and Sharpclaw begin to delegate tasks to their Clanmates. Cora offers to help with Clan activities, and Leafstar appreciates her willingness to help out.
- Cherrytail explains that while on a border patrol, she had followed a loner's scent trail against Leafstar's wishes. Cherrytail directs her leader to where the loner is located. She claims that the loner must be a descendant from old SkyClan and asks the leader to go talk to him. They patiently watch the loner, until the tom catches them. Leafstar and Cherrytail explain SkyClan's history to the loner, but he doesn’t grasp what they're saying. The warriors try their best to convince the tom to visit the gorge, but Leafstar realizes there is no use. The patrol heads back to camp and they deliberate whether he should be welcomed to join SkyClan.
