- When the patrol of Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw, Mistyfoot, Crowfeather, and Tawnypelt look for new territory, Susan and Jacques almost kill Squirrelflight when she wanders into their Twoleg Nest.

- She and Jacques brutally kill Talonpaw, a ShadowClan apprentice. Rowanclaw, who was his mentor, took a patrol for revenge, but Susan and Jacques flee for their Twoleg Nest, and their Twoleg throws something at the patrol, wounding Cedarheart and Rowanclaw. Brambleclaw, Brackenfur, Cloudtail, Rainwhisker, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, Russetfur, Rowanclaw, and Oakfur launch and attack on the nest, and Susan and Jacques are let off with a warning: if they harm any Clan cat, they will be killed.
