Hi! I'm Snowstar!
I am ThunderClan's leader, and the mother of seven lovely kits.
I was born to Squirrelflight and Bramblestar, who was Brambleclaw then. We were born during a raging storm that flooded most of the camp. Squirrelflight was kitting during the storm, and Bramblestar carried her out and helped her onto a floating nest. Graystripe had told stories so many times about the floods in RiverClan - No one ever thought it would happen to the other Clans - But it did.
Squirrelflight drifted away, and Bramblestar couldn't find her, even after most of the Clan had been found - Everyone except for Mousefur, Cherrykit and Squirrelflight.
Bramblestar went back out and found Mousefur and Cherrykit dangling on the branch of a sturdy tree. The practically ancient elder threw Cherrykit to Bramblestar, and as she prepared to lunge, the tree uprooted, and she fell backwards. Mousefur drowned.
Bramblestar came back with Cherrykit, and found that while he had been helping the rest of the Clan, Mousefur had saved his kits and mate, dragging them back to safety, then going back out to find the still lost Cherrykit.
Squirrelflight had given birth to three kits - my sister, Hollykit, my brother, Darkkit, and myself - Snowkit.
Hollykit was named after Hollyleaf, Leafpool's daughter, who was also my kin. She was black and had green eyes, just like Hollyleaf. My brother looked almost identical to Bramblestar, which our father adored. I was a white, fluffy she-kit with one, dark red/ginger paw.
When we were all four moons old, the Clan came down with a horrible greencough. It wasn't a few cats, but more than half of the Clan. Molekit, Poppyfrost's son and my brother both caught it. Cherrykit was the first to catch it, but she soon recovered. Her case hadn't been as bad as most of the Clan's.
There were no apprentices, and Firestar knew what an emergency we were having. He decided to call the Clan for a meeting - Although he was breaking the warrior code, he made me, Hollykit and Cherrykit apprentices! That was the most exciting moment of my life. Leafpool was my mentor, and I was thrilled about that. Cherrypaw got Birchfall, and Hollypaw received Icecloud.
We were already sent on our first mission as Jayfeather sent us out immediately to fetch catmint.
Leafpool was shocked with my knowledge - I was able to find Catmint and tansy, although I had never seen it. I told her that I sometimes listened to Jayfeather in the medicine-cat den - I wanted to learn as much as I could, because I want to be a warrior, but a wise warrior will be skilled in many different things.
Well that shocked her. ;)
As we were leaving, we ran into a group of ShadowClan cats - Ratscar, Crowfrost, Starlingpaw (who was and is a complete jerk!) Tawnypelt and Tigerheart.
They stopped us and questioned as to why I was so small....Leafpool made a wonderful excuse and yay! They left us alone.
A few moons later, Darkkit became Darkpaw, and we all went to our first gathering together.
I've obviously forgotten to mention that my brother is a complete jerk....He was a bully in the nursery (he ran into Firestar once and completely unleashed all of the Dark Forest on him...He got in BIG trouble, much to my delight...And, Hollypaw's.)
He was mentored to Toadfoot, who was an even bigger jerk than my brother. While we were walking home, I tried to be friendly and talk to him, but he ended up attacking me and then blaming it on me! I was so mad, but Leafpool, Sandstorm and Icecloud all believed me! They knew that Darkpaw wsa a troublesome kit.
That was my first fight, and I was proud of it! I got a scar on my flank that I always look at almost proudly. Stupid brother....
But during the Gathering, that Tigerheart started talking to me again. He had been talking to me when I saw him at the twoleg den and then here. I thought he was a friendly cat, and couldn't figure out why Dovewing and Leafpool both snapped at me when I mentioned him.
Finally, after so long, it was time for me to become a warrior! I hadn't expected it at all. It was a quiet, normal day as usual. Nightpaw and I were grooming each other when Firestar called the meeting, and told me to go up to him! The scariest part was that I was the only who was called up - Not even Cherrypaw or Molepaw, who were both two moons older than me!
I got my warrior name - The name I always dreamed of having; Snowfeather. Leave it to Cloudtail to arrange that. He didn't even do that for Whitewing or his other kits!
I was the only one, because Firestar retired right after that. He became Fireheart, and Bramblestar became the leader. I was horrified when Toadfoot became the deputy. He was a bloodthirsty monster, not just a hard to get along with cat.
We managed, ThunderClan was strong, and Hollypaw, Darkpaw, Cherrypaw and Molepaw all became warriors - Hollypaw was Hollyflower, Darkpaw was Darkstorm, Cherrypaw was Cherrymouse (named after Mousefur who saved her) and Molepaw became Molepelt.
I was happy for my sister and my friends, but at some points I wished Darkstorm was still just a little kit in the nursery by himself....I congratulated him, I was nice to him, and he still treated me like foxdung.
So, we trained as warriors, we reached our potention height (thank Starclan) and did what ThunderClan warrior did. Nothing incredibly special happened, there were a few border fights and during Leaf-Bare, we couldn't find as much prey, but that was expected in Leaf-Bare.
Oh, I forgot to mention Cinderheart had her long awaited kits: Honeykt and Heatherkit. Lionblaze was the proud papa of this sweet family.
So, like I said, the only things that really happened were a few sicknesses, border fights and at one point there was a rat fight. A few cats got sick and others hurt from the stinging rat bites, but no fatalities. Is that how you spell it? I'm a cat, give me a break.
All was calm, until one chilly, icy morning in Leaf-bare. It had to be cold and miserable, right?
There was a thick layer of fog throughout the camp, and I couldn't even see the nursery from where I was sleeping.
Hollyflower was sleeping on one side of me, and Cherrymouse was on the other.
I sleepily blinked open my eyes when a soft rustling ran into my ear.
"Hollyflower." I whispered. "Do you hear that?"
She was just opening her eyes, when I saw the figure of dark pelted cats slinking across the ground, their muscles ripplings under their sleek fur in the moonlight
My eyes stretched wide and I screeched, "Enemy attack!"
The cats all froze in horror, and I barreled out of the den, clamping down on the neck of a pure white she-cat.
Soon, all of ThunderClan was awake and fighting. The musty scent of ShadowClan was reeking and I nearly choked on it as I fought with each cat.
We fought for so long, and as I was running to help Hollyflower who was wrestling with Starlingflight (that stupid apprentice who made fun of me back at the twoleg den), another cat ran straight into me, pinning me to the ground.
I looked up to see Tigerheart, his eyes wide.
I was shocked that his claws were sheethed, but he whispered, "Pretend your fighting me."
Pretend? For some reason I did as I was told and as he fake battered me stomach, he mewed, "Meet me at the island, Snowfeather."
"The Island?"
"Yes! Be there!" and he ran off.
I stood up, stunned, until a bloodcurdling shriek pierced the air. I swung around and saw Bramblestar clinging to the top of high ledge. I knew it was my father, because of his pelt. The fog loosened slightly and I could see Rowanstar hovering beside him, trying to grab his neck fur. He desperately stretched his paws out to grab him, but Bramblestar lost hold with one claw and then fell to the ground with a sickening thud.
"Bramblestar!" I had yowled.
ShadowClan retreated, and I ran to my father, who told me Toadfoot was dead. He then told me Lionblaze would be the new leader.
He spoke a few words to me, and then his eyes glazed, and he died. I had no idea he had lost so many lives. He only had eight since Firestar still had one when he retired, and he lost two in the rats, two in sickness, and two in border fights, and one from actual starvation.
Okay, wanting a cat to be dead, not the best thing to do. But I sometimes wished that Toadfoot was dead. Bramblestar was wrong. Toadfoot was fine. He had just wrenched his shoulder, and he and Hollyflower became mates. She was soon going to give birth to his kits, and I was ready to slit her neck open when she told me that. How could she fall in love with him? The mouse-dung tom was deputy still, and the father of my sisters kits. She later gave birth to a single she-cat, who they named Featherkit, after me. How could I be mad at her now? I couldn't even be mad at Toadfoot. She was the prettiest little she-kit I'd ever seen.
The only way I was forgetting my troubles was by seeing Tigerheart. Yes, I did see him that night, and yes, I was breaking the warrior code. But we were mates and we were in love.
I had to Hollyflower, even though she would be the one wanting to slit my neck now.
Everyone thought that Foxleap and I were going to mates, or even Molepelt and I, because both toms were love-struck, much to my displeasure. Hope that's a word. They were both nice, but I only thought of them as Clan-Mates and friends.
I took Hollyflower out for a little walk because she was tired of taking care of her kit and Cinderheart's bigger kits. That's when I told her, and when we saw ShadowClan cat's on our border.
Ever hear of Bluestar, the old ThunderClan leader? She and I go through the same foxdung as each other, in case you can't tell...Hollyflower ran after them, and was hit by a twoleg monster. The thoughts running through my head when that monster hit her body were that she had a kit waiting for her in the nursery, my sister was dead, and StarClan, please don;t let her be dead. Lionstar came by and helped me to drag her back to camp.
I pressed my nose against her pelt, a single tear running down my fur. Saying cats can't cry won't help you, because I obviously cried! Duh.
To make things worse, Toadfoot came out and started screeching at me how it was my fault, and then Featherkit came up to me, asking where her Mom was. I had to tell her that she was dead and would never come back to her.
After her vigil, I went to go find some place in the forest where I could be by myself. The sun was beaming through the trees, and I didn't feel I deserved the sun at all. I curled up by myself in a sunny place by a tree, when I heard Lionstar calling me name.
He found me and told the most exciting news of my life; I was going to have kits.
