The Wikian's Code

Kitsufox September 28, 2011

Since there are users who seem to have trouble figureing out how to behave on this wiki, I decided to write this... Hopefully it will help. (Keep in mind that this list isn't all inclusive. You can find a full list of all policies HERE .)

  1. Know the NOT Policy, for it is the Silverpelt that looks down on us all and shows us how to be a good Wikian. It doesn't hurt to know the rest of the Policies, too.
  2. Respect everyone, from the most active Administrator to the newest Newbie. Personal attacks and harassment are not tolerated on any part of this wiki, from talk page to chatroom.
  3. Leave the affairs of other Wikis with those other Wikis. Warriors Wiki is for Warriors Wiki. If you're here to talk to someone about another Wiki, don't.
  4. Contribute. If you do not provide for the Wiki, the wiki will not provide for you. If you're just here to chatter, you don't belong here. The encylopedia is the heart of this website, if it isn't your purpose, you need to find yourself somewhere else to play. If you don't find it on your own, you'll be exiled as a rouge.
  5. Stealing is wrong. If you don't own an image, don't upload it. If you have permission to post someone else's image you must be able to include a link on the image place to the location where that image was released into the Creative Commons by the creator.

Did Kitsu miss something? If you think she did, respond below and make a suggestion. If she agrees she'll add your suggestion to the Wikia's Code!

  • I like these rules. They are wise rules

  • I like this rule. Being a community lover, I think this really gets users to find good faith and understand the rules in a more encouraging manner.

  • I agree with this 110%.

  • Would not uploading more than one image for personal use be a rule? I'm guessing not, but I felt I had to ask.

    • That is a rule, Phoenix. Just because it's not on here, doesn't mean it's not a rule.

    • Oh, right.

    • This is far from an all inclusive list in the same way that the Warriors Code does not state all the rules that govern the clans lives, just the most important of them. You'll notice that little link to the full list of all the policies.

  • I feel I should voice my support as well. I really think this is great, Kitsu. I hope it helps to shine a light to those "non-contributing users" and hopefully help them to become great editors. Sigh, I remember when I was one of them. Enough of my reminiscing, but really, I love this.  :)

  • I greatly agree with these rules, Kitsu. About rule 4, many users join, go to the chat, and don't make any contributions, except posting on talk pages and chatting, which isn't contributing.

    • Those users, if discovered, are typically reminded of their duty to make contributive edits more. They are usually found after making another violation, though, and it just adds on to their punishment for rules breaking.

    • Oddly enough, one of the most frequent sites for these chatterboxes to make themselves known is by having trouble following the chatroom rules. There's a very strong correlation between being non-contributive and being disruptive in the chatroom.

  • Yes okay Cloud. I'm just, er, obssessed with grammar and spelling and stuff. And I don't want anyone else to suffer what I have to(being banned from chat for using caps)

    • That's not the only reason you were banned, and you know it. I'm not talking about that here though.

  • These are good rules. And Kitsu, may I point out the problems with this blog: 1.You missed the "r" in "Contribute". 2.You spelled "doesn't" wrong in the first rule's section. 3.This might not need to be included in this blog, but people are always telling others off for using caps, on talkpages and chats alike. You might've included "don't use caps" in the section of rule 2 although you didn't actually type it out.

    • When she asked for comments, she didn't mean correct her spelling, Kitty.

Also, yes. Please include the caps thing. I'm getting tired of pointing it out to people in the chat...

    • Correcting my spelling on something I intend to bandy-about as a tool for newbies is okay. I keep forgetting that the stupid new editor makes the spellchecking software that normally runs and underlines my mistakes for correction not work.

  • Thanks for the memo! Now I know the rules!

  • And if rule five is broken, trust me, I'll find out about it. ;) And then so will Kitsu.

    • You're one of this wiki's greatest allies in the fight against copyright violation ;) We appreciate it greatly.
