Mentor Applications

Requirements

To apply to become a mentor, one must

 • have 4 original images approved
 • have tweaked or redone 4 images
 • have been a warrior for at least a month
 • having knowledge of all the skills needed for the assessments below
 • be familiar with the rules and regulations of the project
 • be patient and able to explain things well to other members
 • know the workings of the project, as they will be guiding their apprentice in more than just art

Please make sure you meet all these requirements before you apply to become a mentor.

Applications

Please read
User:USERNAME - Mentor Application, CURRENT DAY MONTH YEAR
Leave a short message with the date you became a warrior (if you can remember it) and the editing program(s) you use and/or are familiar with. A Senior Member will then check to make sure you meet all the requirements, and will add you in to the table on the bottom of this page and on PCA's main page. Once you have been accepted, you may volunteer to become a mentor to any apprentice that uses the same program(s) as you below in the Requests section.

~Breezeheart~ ~ Mentor Application, October 11, 2014

I'd like to apply to become a mentor. Im pretty sure i meet the requirements; If not, though, Its completely fine with me. Since i'd have more time to get better than i already am if this is declined. =) I know i don't have enough tweaks thats stated in the requirements; but i can easily get that out of the way within a week. Though, i would enjoy the opprotunity to pass on what i've been taught to a newer member. I currently use Gimp.-~☯ Breeze Five Nights at Freddys 00:23, October 12, 2014 (UTC)

Rocket ~ Mentor Application, October 16, 2014

I meet the requirements, right? If not that's okay, but I've been wanting to do this for awhile.

I'd like to apply to become a mentor. I've been in PCA for about 5 months now, and I would love to be able to pass on my skills to an apprentice. I have made 16 original chararts, and tweaked 9 (counting ones on the approval and tweak pages as of right now.) I am currently still an apprentice in the project, but my mentor has said that I'm nearly ready for my final assessment, so now it's just a waiting game. I know I am new, but I've learned a lot about making these images and I would love to teach someone some of the things that I've learned. I currently only use GIMP, but I could possibly work with someone that uses Pixlr. Thanks for your consideration! User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 1:17 PM, Thu Oct 16, 2014

Apprentice Requests

Requests

All incorrectly filed requests will be automatically declined. Please read
User:USERNAME - Mentor Request, CURRENT DAY MONTH YEAR
If you would like mentor to guide you in Project:Charart, you may apply here to be assigned a mentor. Use the code above and leave a short message with what editing program(s) you use, or are willing to use. Be sure to file your request properly, all incorrectly filed requests will be automatically declined. You are also allowed to request a mentor if you wish as long as they have an open space for another apprentice, though keep in mind they're not required to accept.
After you have put up your request, if you have not requested a mentor, one may volunteer to take you as their apprentice. If nobody volunteers after 4 days a senior member will assign you a mentor out of the ones available. You will then have one week to reply to your mentor on your request to show that you agree with the choice. If you do not within the week, your request will be archived and declined. After you have replied, a senior member will add you to the table on the bottom of this page and on the PCA mainpage beside your mentor.

Mapleflight - Mentor Request, July 29, 2014

Hello, I would like to have a mentor assist me with my art. I have some knowledge of charart, but I still need some help. I use GIMP, and that's all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mapleflight (talkcontribs)

User:Sonic78 - Mentor Request, August 18, 2014

Hello I'm Sonic78! You can call me Sonic or Gamer. I am requesting for a mentor to guide me in the ways of charart making. I currently use Pixlr, but I will happily use any other program. Thank you! Sonic78 (talk) 14:50, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Swanflutter - Mentor Request, August 28th, 2014

Hey, Swaneh here.

Just noticed that Leggo's off the Wiki, so I would like another mentor. I tried using Pixlr, but I would love using other programs! Thanks so much! ☞ⓢⓦⓐⓝⓕⓛⓤⓣⓣⓔⓡ☚ the faultin our stars 03:36, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

~xXSpottedgorseXx~ -Mentor Request, September 4th, 2014

Hi! I love this Wiki very much and I love all of the support here, so I was hoping I could get a mentor! When I look at other user pages, I love the things that user says about someone else. Just wondering, --S P O T T E H K A T 22:11, September 4, 2014 (UTC)

Stealthfire star - Mentor Request, 19 September, 2014

Hello! I love the work done here. I've done good practice from the apprentice tutorial for a while now so I shouldn't be too difficult. I use PAINT.NET and Paint and I have Photoshop Elements 9 and GIMP. I prefer PAINT.NET and sometimes use Paint but I'm willing to try GIMP.

Edit: I mostly use PAINT.NET and sometimes Photoshop Elements 9 for the stuff that's not on PAINT.NET. I still have paint but no longer have GIMP.

Err, I'm just asking, it says above that a senior warrior will assign a mentor after four days. There has been people waiting much longer than me without a mentor. I'm just asking if I've missed something or if something is wrong.

Amazingwhiteclaw - Mentor Request, 21 September 2014

Bonjour! I have been looking at this wiki for quite some time now, so today I decided to get GIMP! As well as that I have MS paint and Photoshop elements 9. I have tried to make chararts before, but I didn't have any training. I have a bit of experience with digital art. If it's ok I would prefer a mentor who doesn't think i'm perfect right away, and has some patience.

.Amber - Mentor Application, September 28th 2014

So I'm Amber. You might know from before and I got inactive on this wiki because of stuff. I had a mentor before, but then the inactive stuff.... Well you get the picture. I use GIMP. I have paint.net but I don't like it so I need a mentor who can teach me the ways of GIMP. I need help in tabbies and texture. I don't mind who my mentor is. I just need one XD Amber The One and Only16:30 Sun Sep 28

Well... I already have an apprentice, but I don't see a rule against having two, and one of mine only has a class or two left to do.. So if you're still looking, I can take you Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 11:31, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Sure :) Amber The One and Only13:49 Fri Oct 3

OK then, we can start tomorrow. I have one last lesson with Tiger today, then it's her assessment, so I should have time. Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 17:58, October 5, 2014 (UTC)

Graduations

Please read
User:APPRENTICE'S USERNAME - Graduation, CURRENT DAY MONTH YEAR
This section is only for mentors to post in. If your apprentice has passed all the required assessments and both are satisfied with what they've learned, you may contact the head of the project, Ducksplash, to join you in putting your apprentice through their final assessment. You and one of the heads will agree on the task, and if the apprentice succeeds at it and the head approves, you may post their graduation. A senior member will come and approve the graduation and remove the apprentice from the table.

otquiterocketwildbokan - Graduation, 19 October 2014

This apprentice has never ceased to amaze me, they have so much skill and has improved so much over the past few months that it would be ridiculous for her to be my apprentice anymore. They've even taught me a few things on how to be a mentor. I wish them luck and have faith in them that they'll do great things around the wiki. c: -Ducksauce 20:42, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

This section is for both mentors and apprentices to post in. The mentor is allowed to resign here, along with asking for the removal of their apprentice if they have been inactive for over 2 weeks, or for any other valid reason. An apprentice is allowed to ask for a mentor removal here if, again, they have been inactive for over 2 weeks, or for any other valid reason. Once their request has been approved, they are allowed to request for another mentor in the correct section.

Help

If you have any questions, comments or worries, post them below so other members can help you out.

New Rule

Hello, I just wanted to point out that I have put in a new rule, as seen above. From now on mentors can now request (in this discussion area) that their apprentice be removed from the project if they have gone inactive for more than 2 weeks (or just if there is another credible reason). Thank you and carry on! Mistypebble 04:02, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

I have also added forms to the 'Discussion' drop-down menu that request a mentor removal, a resignation, or an apprentice removal. You can read the info given in the drop-down menu for more information. Mistypebble 04:22, March 6, 2014 (UTC)
