This policy in a Nutshell
Essays must add new and/or useful content to the Warriors Wiki without excessive duplication of information.
Essays must be stored on User space, and must be marked with templates as appropriate.
Essays are defined as an analytic or interpretative literary composition usually dealing with its subject from a limited or personal point of view according to Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary. While possessing a defined Point of View on a topic generally unacceptable to an encyclopedic environment, the ability of essays to expand knowledge and display viewpoints and interpretations not generally acceptable for a normal article they make excellent secondary additions to the main articles.
Currently the restrictions on essays are loose, but we do require that an essay do more than simply re-iterate information already available on other parts of the Wiki. Such things as explaining why you like a character will also be difficult to keep, as we wish to require that articles add something of note and merit to the Wiki as a whole. Articles discussing theoretic aspects of the world, and things of a similar nature are encourages, while those discussing what makes a character better than all the others will always be frowned upon.
Please use common sense with what you add as an Essay. Inclusion in the Essay Category will subject your essay to meeting content restrictions, even in the case that restrictions tighten. Your assistance in keeping the Essays up to scratch and self-monitoring for suitable content will assist in keeping these restrictions from becoming more explicit.
