Quota
With the opportunity to post a quota that must be meet before PC is alright with the reopening of PCA, what should that be?
I'm not fond of having a certain "type" of page done (like having all of Tallstar's Revenge character pages done) due to the large expanse of character pages still needing to be done. Nor do I think getting all started/planned pages up to bronze would be a good idea considering that they'd be only half way there. Ideas? Runningnose
Okay, so, in Tigerclaw's Fury, super awesome medicine cat Runningnose plays at least three vital parts in the book. He's not only medicine cat, but it's also said that he's deputy and leader, at least two separate times. For the deputy, the quote is this:
- Nightstar has been too sick to choose a new deputy," Runningnose put in. He stepped a little closer to the black tom so that he was supporting some of his weight. Tigerclaw thought he had never seen a weaker, more pitiful-looking pair of cats. "I fulfill the duties of a deputy for now." the medicine cat went on.
The leader quote is this:
- "Shortly the elders will bring Nightstar's body out from his den and we can begin our vigil. As we have no deputy to take his place, I will lead you until StarClan makes its wishes known. Even as we mourn Nightstar, life must continue. The worst of the sickness has passed, and we must make ourselves strong once more. Hunting and border patrols will be sent out as normal, and battle training will begin again."
This goes on for at least a quarter moon, since Runningnose is the one who invites Tigerclaw and his band of rogues to stay in ShadowClan after Nightstar dies, and they appear to be asking Runningnose for permission to do things, and stuff like that. He clearly leads the group of cats, and also performs the medicine cat duties. While the ShadowClan cats do state they don't have a leader, the context says otherwise, and although he wasn't an official leader, he does appear to be unofficial and is even the one to appoint Tigerclaw after he gets a sign from StarClan.
It's not the same case as Graystripe standing in for Brambleclaw as temporary deputy, since there was still an official leader/medicine cat/ect, there, I'd say. Since it seems to me that ShadowClan was his responsibility for more than a sunrise or two, would Runningnose qualify to be listed as leader, or at least temporary leader, of ShadowClan? I added something to the trivia, but since it seems to go into more detail, I think perhaps something else could be added to the article as well? —Jayce(20:19, 1/28/2014)

Tigerstar
I was looking at the Thunderclan cats and I noticed that Tigerstar is part of the deceased list but he dosn't have the deceased version of him for art. If this is not what we do I understand I will take the case to project art.Firestar12321 (talk) 18:09, February 2, 2014 (UTC)

Pronouns
Okay, I'm bringing up an ancient discussion, as seen here, because something about it bothers me, and it's the usage of s/he (which I have seen before) seems to be slightly distracting. Typing it out, like "she or he" is okay, and maybe I've spent too much time reading up on this, but what exactly is wrong with possibly using "they"?
I'm not just spouting out nonsense either. A quick search on the Purdue OWL website states that:
- Many people find the construction "his or her" wordy, so if it is possible to use a plural noun as your antecedent and thus you can use "they" as your pronoun, it may be wise to do so. If you do use a singular noun and the context makes the gender clear, then it is permissible to use just "his" or "her" rather than "his or her."
Oxford Dictionaries also states this:
- You can use the plural pronouns ‘they’, ‘them’, ‘their’ etc., despite the fact that, technically, they are referring back to a singular noun.
There are also multiple other dictionary websites, including this one that do state using "they" is acceptable, while it seems grammatically incorrect. It's been in use for many many many years, and it takes a simple google search to find these things out.
I know it's not that big of a deal, and I guess how we have it is okay, but I've always wondered why people have a problem with "they", when it's been used before. Would it be that bad to switch to they, though? I do beg of you though, please do not use "it". —Jayce(03:02, 4/2/2014)
