The fur around the earpink needs to be smudged, and it's really hard edged when it gets lighter.
Not jaggedy like sharpened but I mean... look at the stripes on the queen. It has like these bumps and such and they're not totally smooth. Jaggedy is the only way I can describe it. Has nothing to do with blurring, just with shape.
This looks absolutely lovely, but I think what Paleh is getting at is that the thickness doesn't particularly go with the curves of the stripes on the back. The stripes on the queen are extremely thick when it meets the spine and then taper out unevenly like stalactites with odd angles chipped off and added to them at random and with variation thus not uniform and smooth. The other stripes should also have an angle in the middle of them as well as uneven thickness so it looks like it changes direction abruptly rather than smoothly. Cats have the most awesome anatomy while running. 8D Anyway, first thing is, if an animal has their legs that far forward while running, chances are both their front paws will not be on the ground. I would recommend lifting at least one amd giving it a wrist joint. Second, it's chest is way too large. Cats' ribcages end almost right with the shoulders, so that far shoulder is going to be much more prominent, the chest flatter, and the nearer shoulder larger. I would also recommend the cats head to our left slightly so that it's neck will appear longer and give you more room for the shoulders. It also might be slightly too large. The back legs are also off. Take the knee joint and bump it up higher. The hock will also be much shorter, so that the lineart for the foot is almost behind foreleg, and the far leg should be farther right and up. Cloudy's right there should be a gap but you shouldn't erase the whole line just like 2/3's of it or so, and when you do you'll need to make the top of the tail blend a little bit better with back or the lineart will kind of dip in wierd, I think. Reuploaded So close...come on...let's get it thereIveh Yo! 05:55, February 27, 2013 (UTC)
The foot was bothering me, and I don't know if this position is right or not (I just uploaded it over my PI) but does this look better than the current way the back foot is positioned? Iveh Yo! 05:48, March 1, 2013 (UTC)
Shorten the far front leg a bit, and, on the closer front, switch that line going into the other from the arm going up to the shoulder going to the side. I think this is almost done and the others can be posted soon. -Whiskey our freedom's just a loan 07:06, March 2, 2013 (UTC)
Reuploaded Also redid lines in Sai with the binary tool, the lines look much better now! And I'm assuming you meant the second version was better? -is a total derp- Iveh Yo! 05:28, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
Yes. The foot in the above is much better. Could you make the far front leg just a liiiiittle thinner? And then I'd say go ahead and post the other three because this is looking amazing. -Whiskey our freedom's just a loan 05:48, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
Reuploaded Just checking in to make sure this is thin enough but not too thin! (fandom secret: son I am excite!) Iveh Yo! 06:06, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, it looks good! Although I meant the foot as in the second version you have directly above. Put that one back on? ^^ -Whiskey our freedom's just a loan 06:15, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
Doh, that was my mistake! I forgot to switch the filename and junk. Iveh Yo! 06:22, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry but the jaw seems to jut out just a bit too much right now. It should kind of go in the lower it is. Just a little bit though. And this is preference I guess, but is there any chance you could make the eyes look a bit less angry? Also, could you make the proportions a bit closer to those of the apprentice blanks? These look like fully grown adults mostly instead of clearly young cats.
Reuploaded Kay, I did what you asked, but in looking at the apprentice blank, as well as a kitten to adult growth chart, I've found that most of it was in proportion with a younger cat. Larger ears, bigger eyes. I slimmed down his tummy some but honestly you're going to have to tell me what else is adult like about this. (I'm glad I didn't upload the longhairs in this case) Iveh Yo! 18:44, March 6, 2013 (UTC)
The eyes are on his forehead and his forehead is all bulgy Bramble(talk) 00:16, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
The eyes are not on the forehead or bulgy, I was instructed to make them larger and they are only a few tony little pixils larger than they were Iveh Yo! 01:30, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
Reuploaded Alright, I'm going to be going to my Mom's for a few days and there's a high probability that there will be no Internet. Cloudy said I should go ahead and post all of them. Don't be afraid to crit the anatomy if it is wrong but I'm pretty sure it's close if not already so. The fur on the haunches is bugging me and I have no idea how you did it on the loners, Mountain XD Iveh Yo! 04:22, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
The fur on the chest and tail looks good, but you might thin out how many lines are on the haunches, since it looks a bit weird, and add some fluff on the underbellies. -Whiskey our freedom's just a loan 05:42, March 7, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry, this should have been addressed before uploading the longhairs, but with the position and angle this is at, I don't think the far back leg would be show past the shoulder at all.
Reuploaded Changes are not showing on some of them, dunno about for you guys Iveh Yo! 03:02, March 14, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I'm going to put CBA on these. david 🌈 05:08, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
The back leg is a tad stubby now that I look at it again... and the far back leg should show through the belly in that gap, just not past the shoulder or anything. Point the ends of the fur more so they don't look so round and kinda mop-like, make the lines not go in so far, and add more belly fur and elbow fur. Also, the whiskers that go outside the lineart should angle up more, as if they're running, the wind would be blowing them so they wouldn't just stick straight out.
Reuploaded And I'm sorry but I can't see where it's "stubby". And the fur looks a little sharp to me now but here you goIveh Yo! 23:45, March 19, 2013 (UTC)
I have to disagree about the back leg being stubby. It looks like it is being pulled up, with the muscles bunching, which is exactly what should happen. It would look a bit shorter than normal, especially at the angle these are at and altering that would mess up the proportions. -Whiskey our freedom's just a loan 23:49, March 19, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry but I think the haunch fur is a bit too... even for lack of better word. Most of the fur over there is all the same thickness and length. Try varying it a bit more. And maybe get rid of this reaaally thick spot in the longhair tail lineart?
Honestly, it's fine. It's not going to be perfect, and it looks fine to me. Re-CBA'ing. ❄Appledash❄❤ crowfeather 01:45, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sorry but I strongly disagree. These are blanks, they're going to be used on a lot of images, it's not like it's just on charart. We should get them as good as possible, and right now, that fur really bugs me because how even it is.
Well I don't know if you noticed but I reuploaded them with said changes anyways and I forgot to mention it. Is it still that bad? ^^; Iveh Yo! 04:16, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
I can see nothing visibly wrong with this image. The highlights, shading, and everything else appear to be in working order, so I'm going to CBA it. For your first black cat, Tai, I'm very impressed~ —Jayce(19:59, 3/22/2013)
Sorry to interrupt, but can you add an eye white? I don't see any. Bbunlegs 20:04, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
Eye style is artist's choice. And it looks fine to me, honestly. —Jayce(20:09, 3/22/2013)
There's waste, and I don't believe having the white present in some way is artists choice. Neither of these affect the quality of the image, but could you please fix them?
I didn't see any watse but I went over all of the layers anyway. And added eye whites. Thistle. 05:57, March 23, 2013 (UTC)
