I can't see the lineart. I think it's because your shading is so dark. Did you do it with a black paintbrush or use the burn tool on highlights? If you did either then that's probably why - I find midtones burn tool better on a dark coloured cat as it keeps the distiction between the lineart and pelt. Try using the dodge tool to lighten the shading slightly then reapply the lineart over the top as a second layer (make sure all the white is transparent first). Also, the ear pink is too pale for a black cat - make it more of a rosy colour. You may also want to try adding some highlights with the dodge tool, just make sure you blend well. No, don't darken the shading, brighten the highlights. The highlights aren't bright enough, and look like the normal fur color. Also, add a highlight on the head, possibily between the eyes. make sure to keep the eyes the same color, but a highlight on the head would look good. Also, make sure you don't make the highlights too big, otherwise we won't be able to see the actual fur color. --Icy-chan 22:59, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Add some shading to the hind foot, as well as a small bit on (our) left of the head. And try blurring the shading some more, it seems too dark. Also, try thickening the shading on the stomach, or try adding some highlights. --Icy-chan 17:22, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

I actually think the one on the left looks really good and a lot more realistic than the other. (ie. the first one) If you look at [2] I think the stripes are okay how they are as this tabby has very straight stripes... it just depends. Thanks to everyone for your opinions, but I've looked at the picture Sandy provided, as well as some others, and I found a lot of striped tabbies, so I changed it back to just the first one being up for approval.
