No, you will blur the shading more if a more experienced member tells you to. I agree. It needs to have a nice, smooth transition between the lighting planes and blurring it makes this transition looks natural. Right now she's spotted, and mottled means a combination of colors. I can only see two. You don't have to copy my Leopardstar image or Mudfur's, but you can use those as a general guide as to what mottled looks like. If anything, put spots of slightly lighter than her main pelt color. It doesn't matter. Text is text. The caps thing really only applies to the chat room (I use caps to make a word stand out all of the time, btw). Yes, Mistystar and Stonefur got alts for that, but they were being described as DAKR, or LIGHT gray. They'd have to be dark blue-gray, or light blue-gray for it to be the same kind of situation. If it's just gray, you're simply removing the blue- part. If it's light/dark gray, you're adding onto a normal gray. It actually is different, and I don't agree that she should get one. He looks extremely dark for being depicted as, " a light brown tabby tom". Just dodge the whole image a few times. You can still see where you smduged everything. Try setting your blur tool on something like 3 and then 60 for strength. Then blur everything. Then make the brush bigger maybe a 3 and then you set it to 100 strength. Blur everything once again. Keep repeating it untill it looks smoother. Very nice! If you wanna know where to put highlights, they go on the highest point on a cat's body- the shoulder and haunch muscles, the belly, andthe places where the light would directly hit them, such as the front of the face and the top of the tail. Yes, the earpink should be the same as the leader, but when comparing the two, they're just a slight shade off of one another. I say brighten it rather than redden it. Anyways, like you've been hearing all the time, the shading is really faint. Define it by a large amount. I wouldn't darken it because then someone will probably tell you to lighten the whole image, but perhaps emphasize the lighter parts of the shading even to the possible extent of using highlights. Do you use GIMP Sweetflower? Because then you can just save the image as a xcf. file. That file keeps all the layers. When you open GIMP with that file, all the layers pop up. But, you have to double save it first as a png. (or whatever file you want) then a xcf. You can't upload xcf. files on this Wiki. I'd recommend opening the png file and then cutting the white part from the blank and pasting it into a new layer. Then colour select that layer and dodge the entire image. Often I add a layer, right click the background layer and select "Merge" on the drop down list. Then, use the color selection tool (not the wand) and select all the white, and erase. I'd suggest either smudge the brown surrounding the earpink and then blur where necessary or smudge the brown where the earpink is in a way of erasing the earpink and then add a new layer to start over with the earpink. Hokay, so I have issues with this pattern of gray and white: nothing personal, mind you, so don't take it that way. Right now with the way the gray is placed it just looks like much-too-dark shading on a white or pale gray cat, as most of the gray is in places where there should be shading. This makes it look slightly wonked, as if you had forgotten to lower the opacity of the shading layer or something. Now I have no right to tell you to redo the pattern 'cause I don't like it; however, I'm not telling you to redo it "cause I don't like it", I'm only suggesting you change it so that it can look better. You don't need to dull the ear pink. Blurring it should take care of that for you. What I do is make the blur tool about as big as the ear pink, and click to blur a few times. Provided it doesn't get overblurred, it usually works. —Jayce() 20:44, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

Shelly said that they called her the medicine cat, not the medicine cat apprentice, so she'd go ahead and get he MC image right away. Those. freaking. stripes. were. so. flipping. difficult. to. copy. Hands down, this was probably my most difficult charart to do just because I strive for perfection, including copying her stripe pattern. I slightly tinted the shading blue, as when I was finished, I noticed in her warrior she looks ever so slightly tinged blue.
