Stormcloud (KP) ~ For Approval

Stormcloud.kittypet Is it possible for me to get the whole set later? I already have the others finished, I just need this approved. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 15:52, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Blur the shading on his hip a bit, and define the earpink, it's hard to see. Jayie Unwritten words~ 22:07, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

For the hundrenth time, my shading is always smudged. AKA no, I won't blur it. Re-upped for earpink tho. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 23:02, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Can you smudge the shading some more? ☽➸ Hawky Void Shadowshot23:31 Tue Aug 26 23:31, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Tbh, I can't tell it's smudged, and I would have made the same mistake Jayie did. Don't get snippy- it's honestly hard to see that it's smudged shading. Also, what's up with the tail stripes? I can't tell they're there because of the shading. Jayce(23:40, 8/26/2014)

..Did I come across as rude? I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention V_V Anyway, the tail stripes are rings. Should I make them more visible? ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 00:03, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

Could you please, Shinx? That would be lovely. ^.^ Jayce(00:23, 8/27/2014)

Lighten the ear pink a bit, or at least make it more visible. Also, he kind of looks blind with the eyes so dull like that...perhaps lighten them up or sumtin'....Atelda insert vague subtext here 01:34, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

Define the eye depth while you're lightening his eyes. Also, even though the shading is smudged it still looks way too dark and awkward on this cat so if you would please blur it down some that'd be nice. You'll see if you go up and look at Littlebird , me and Cloudy(Jayce)I'm old lol were telling Ducksplash the same thing.  Frosty ☾Supernatural 14:32, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

Re-ups I'm sorry, but no, I won't blur it. I tried just now, it makes it look strange to me. I can lighten it if you want, or change to blurred shading (which I'd rather not do if I don't have to), or put a layer of blurred shading on top, but I can't blur the shading that's already smudged. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 14:49, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, why not try both methods that you just suggested, and upload them to tinypic or something, and let me see what each version looks like? Jayce(21:15, 8/27/2014)

http://i60.tinypic.com/qn5mo0.png http://i60.tinypic.com/15heo3m.png Here ya go. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 22:28, August 27, 2014 (UTC)

I like the first link better personally.  Frosty ☾Supernatural 00:10, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

That's the blurred shading, and again, I REALLY don't want to switch to it if I don't have to. If more then one person tells me to, I guess I can do it, but I don't like using blurred shading much. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 09:58, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

I think if you just smudge it more itll turn out right. david 🌈 10:00, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

Re-upped Smudged the shading more, and added a bit of texture. I can remove it if you want. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 15:00, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

The shading is very odd please expand it, blur it, and then define it to soften it. (protip: you can both smudge and blur shading wow) -Rustle it takes a leap of faith21:29 Fri Aug 29 2014

I'll go define it and stuff, but as I said before (read up a bit), I've tried blurring it, it looks strange. o_o ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 21:36, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Then try a different tint, or even black, if you're not using it. Still trying to figure out what people have against using black shading; I like it. Changing what you're shading with can have amazing results. Jayce(12:22, 8/30/2014)

Reups Redid the shading. It was black to begin with. ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 15:28, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

Since we don't have a specific shade of gray for him, would you mind making him a more neutral shade of gray? You don't have to go much darker, but perhaps try between #C1C1C1 and #A1A1A1? Jayce(20:42, 8/31/2014)

Re-upped Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 16:06, September 1, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, I'm aware this is artist's choice, but could you lighten up the shading a bit? It looks a tad too dark. Also, define the eye depth. Queen Beebs 14:56, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

It's only artist's choice when it's not obnoxiously dark, making the pattern hard to see, ect. You're allowed to ask someone to lighten the shading- artist's choice is nonsense sometimes, and only applies to smaller things. Jayce(15:17, 9/2/2014)

The shading is fine. I can see the patter clearly, so imo, it doesn't need to be lightned. — ferk my name is BLURRYFΛCE 00:00, 09/4/2014

Well, I'm having issues seeing parts of it, and I think lowering the opacity...maybe between 5 and 15 percent (depends on how you have your shading and stuff) on the bar would possibly do the trick. Try around 15 at first, and if that's a bit too much, go back to what you had, and then lower it by, say, 11 or 12, and then keep doing the same thing. Jayce(03:41, 9/4/2014)

Re-upp(ing, my internet's taking forever to load it)ed I kinda like dark shading, but yeah, it did need lightening. Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 15:03, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

Would maybe adding another thinner tail ring be acceptable? Like, between the last two on the tail? Between the one on the tail tip and the one after that. Jayce(13:20, 9/6/2014)

That'd be very much acceptable, I'll do it when I get home. Hopefully the reupload page for Petalfur's kit will be loaded by then. Stupid internet >< Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 13:35, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Lighten that shading up, especially on the leg/haunch and back. User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 8:11 PM, Tue Sep 9, 2014

It looks fine to me. It's already on a very low opacity, if I lighten it much more, I can't see it. Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 07:53, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

I agree wit Rocket- the whole "artist's choice" thing only goes so far. Please lighten it. Jayce(13:59, 9/10/2014)

I know it does, I honestly dont give a crap about artist's choice. The opacity is literally like, twelve, and at least on my PC (Mind you, it's old and not really made for art) I could barely see it. I can lighten it, I suppose, when I'm not on mobile. Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 18:00, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

It's making it hard for me to see the strips so if you would lighten it, that would be helpful. You don't need to get irritated. User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 10:06 PM, Wed Sep 10, 2014

Re-upped I wasn't getting irritated, just stating why I didn't feel the need to lighten it. Anyway, I lightened the whole image, because the colors were bordering on dark grey. Shinxy used Thunderbolt! 08:38, September 11, 2014 (UTC)

blur/smudge the haunch and front leg shading a bit more then it should be redy for CBa. david 🌈 07:05, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

Re-upped Shinxy used Thunderbolt!

Hmm, before I CBA this, think you could break up the stripes a bit more to make them more tabby looking? If not, that's totally fine. Queen Beebs 22:53, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

Grasspaw (A) ~ For Approval

Add some light to the far back paw, and possibly the back? I think there would probably be some light there with your source. (If you don't use highlights, ignore me.)) ~Shinx Blitz and Melody 15:24, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Re-up ~ Added some highlights on the paw and a bit on the end of her back. Maanhart Speaking quietly ☽︎ 17:33, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Can you define the ear pink on ----> side just a bit? Silverhmm 19:54, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Could you make her look a bit less green-ish. Tinting your shading brown/red might work. Also, for pale brown cats, I tend to use #9c6442 as a nice pale brown shade, but that's totally up to you if you want to do that. Queen Beebs 01:58, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

Re-up ~ Defined the ear pink by removing a little bit of the shading, and made the shading brownish. :3 Maanhart Speaking quietly ☽︎ 10:08, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

Earpink still needs to be define in the ---> ear. Looking good:)  Frosty ☾Supernatural 13:56, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

Try shifting your earpink layer around a bit... User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 7:49 PM, Thu Sep 4, 2014

Re-up ~ Defined the ear pink a bit again. :3 Sorry for being late, school is starting again and I'm busy with my own wiki. And what do you mean with shifting the earpink layer around? Maanhart Speaking quietly ☽︎ 14:39, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

It still looks a tad green...perhaps try making the base coat more reddish, or use the hex code I gave above for it?? if you chose to use the hex code, then you should also set the stripe layer to multiply as well. I think that'd do the trick o3o Queen Beebs 22:01, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

I mean moving the ear pink layer over/under some layers of shading if it's on its own layer. User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 1:41 PM, Sun Sep 7, 2014

The earpink is fine as-is. I can see it clearly, and not everyone has shading on the earpink. ☽➸ Hawky Void Shadowshot22:18 Tue Sep 9

I can't see it at all on the tail now. Define that? Also, the texture should flow with the direction of the fur, so on the haunch, it should go down the leg toward the foot. If that makes any sense. If you need a demo, message me, and I can teach you. — ferk my name is BLURRYFΛCE 18:57, 09/6/2014

I think the shading with the black was fine, imho. You could lower the opacity of the black shading... also, blur this shading a lot, please, and lower the opacity of it, as it looks a bit too hardedged. why does everyone diss black shading nowadays???? .-. Jayce(00:11, 9/7/2014)

Re-uploaded. Uh, i never said i was dissing black shading..? But okay. Blurred shading even more. (I've basically overly blurred this about 20 times) Is that better?--~☯ Breeze Five Nights at Freddys 03:43, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

I said that, because a lot of people seem to be against shading with black..no matter the pelt color. And since her warrior was shaded with black, I think it's only fair to keep the same coloring, that way you don't get told to change the color. Idk, tint's not required to match, but the shade you've chosen appears to slightly throw off the color. The black didn't make it look too dark, and lowering the opacity probably would have fixed that... Also, define the lighter areas on the paws and tail, and blur the back shading (or whatever we're calling that idk anymore- I'm tired) Jayce(04:28, 9/7/2014)

And I think it's off too. Just because you used it on other images doesn't make it accurate. I get told that all the time. Usually, if Breezey comments, it's something important, and she's not someone you easily disagree with when it comes to chararts- she's a former lead, and a very amazing artist. She knows what she's talking about, and she made these blanks, so she knows the sources possible for this better than anyone, and if she says it's off, it probably is. This "unless someone else agrees" thing has become far too common for the whole of PCA. Jayce(14:04, 9/10/2014)

Blur the ear pink, and define the lighter areas. I can't see anything but almost solid black. Try a base of between #191919 and #121212 and see what you get. I can't see the lineart, or anything like that, at all...and coming from me, who loves darker colors on black cats, that's saying something o.O Jayce(05:51, 9/9/2014)

I can see the lineart just fine... But when I get home I'll blur the earpink a bit more User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 11:43 AM, Tue Sep 9, 2014

At least add some highlights or something to brighten up some of the cat a little bit? I've had to do that with my black cats, and I really am having trouble seeing it. Jayce(15:29, 9/9/2014)

Yeah she's so dark she looks flat. Lighten her a bit. -Rustle it takes a leap of faith15:51 Tue Sep 9 2014

I already added highlights, do you want me to just try to lighten those? As for the base, yes, I will lighten it a couple notches on the lightness scale. Although I can't quite see how she's flat... User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 4:02 PM, Tue Sep 9, 2014

She's flat as in shading doesn't show up for her because she's so close to pure black. She looks like she's all one color. You don't need to take it as a personal offense. -Rustle it takes a leap of faith16:07 Tue Sep 9 2014

I was not taking it personally. I was just wondering how it looked flat, I can see the shading, highlights, and base just fine on my computer, but I will lighten it when I get home. User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 4:09 PM, Tue Sep 9, 2014

Rocket, different monitors have different color levels, thus showing slightly different results. I know on mine, and on Breezey's, the base can be lightened a few shades- this will more than likely solve your "issue" of the image appearing a tad bit flat. Black cats are my favorite to make, and I know it's not as easy as it seems how to get the shading/highlights/base to work together. You gotta get it juuuuust the right shade in order to work. Otherwise it's slightly too dark, or dark gray. Jayce(16:15, 9/9/2014)

I get that. Like I said above, I will fix it when I get home. User:Notquiterocketwildbokan/Sig 4:16 PM, Tue Sep 9, 2014

Lighten it some more, Rocket. I still see solid black. Hm try #333333 that will make the cat much more visible. ;)  Frosty ☾Supernatural 17:09, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

It's fine at the darkenss it is. #333333 is much too light and appears dark gray. Dark gray and black are not the same thing. That is a good color for a stable dark gray cat, like Ferncloud's one alt, but for a black cat, it's way too light. Seeing all the lineart is not required, and the pelt she's got now is good. Blur the tail shading, and I agree with Shinx- I think it could use some definition. Jayce(03:34, 9/10/2014)

Smudge the earpink into the fur or vice versa. and if you have no clue what vice versa means don't sweat it. It is Latin--I think--literally meaning other way around. It currently looks too neat for a long furred cat. Keep it up!  Frosty ☾Supernatural 17:21, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

Smudging the ear pink is not required on these blanks. I don't smudge them on mine, and I know a couple others that don't either. Plus, it already looks like Feather smudged it- it's just not extravagant. Jayce(17:24, 9/10/2014)

Pretty:) lighten the black a shade and define the texture a bit.  Frosty ☾Supernatural 17:22, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

As I have already explained on Shimmerpelt, the black is fine as it is. The coloring I've used is approximately the same one Rocket has used, and if it's lightened much more, he will begin to turn dark gray, and they are not the same thing. If you would like me to shift around some highlights or something along that nature, I will, but his base is already light enough (without the texture, it's much too light, hence why I added it) and seeing all lineart is not mandatory or required by PCA. As for the texutre, I do think it's defined enough, and I was actually expecting to get told to smooth it out some, but since texture is not my strong point, I would like to wait for a second opinion on that, just based on the fact some of the other senior users in the project know a fair bit more than you or I do (not calling you inexperienced, just they've been doing it much longer than we have). Define the shading more on the face: like put some shading where her eyes are to define the mouth and nose. And the tail: make the shading curve more to the shape of the tail. Very pretty!!  Frosty ☾Supernatural 17:29, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

Re-uploaded. I did not add any shading where her eyes are, since that kind of depth and things of that nature isn't something we have to do. It's optional and I opt not to do it. It's not part of the basic shading- it's there to give some extra shape to the image and people have just been doing it more frequently. I did extend the bottom facial shading a bit, though. Also, the tail shading does curve, but the highlight kinda goofed it up lol. Jayce(17:37, 9/10/2014)

Can you fix that then? Not only does it not look like it's following the curve of the tail, but it looks like it could possibly need a bit more smudging. Not sure if it's the highlight doing that though. — ferk my name is BLURRYFΛCE 21:14, 09/10/2014
