No offense or anything, but Yellowfang's apprentice image's shading doesn't make any sense, and neither does this. If you can get the shading to look normal without matching the apprentice tutorials, then fine. However, right now, it doesn't look normal. It looks like you drew a line of darker colour over the top half of the image. So either match the apprentice tutorials or try something else that makes sense. For help with the shading, delete the shading on the haunch and shoulder, maybe the area around the eyes and if you want the top of the tail and the bottom of the paws. Blur and lighten the shading, and make it so it doesn't interfere with the stripes. If you use layers, set the opacity down more, if you don't, I suggest you do, because the burn tool doesn't work very good on tabby cats. The image still needs to be lightened to match her other images. You use Gimp, right? If you do, brush the dodge tool over the whole image a couple of times (depends on the strength of the dodge tool for how many times you brush over the image), and it will make the image lighter. Ok, first of all, i've been having SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH SMUDGING. This entire time it's been for approval i've been trying to smudge it in but it just won't. I did the shading exactly like the apprentice tutorial....and I honestly don't think that the shading needs blurred. Not trying to say that I won't blur it but I just don't see why it needs blurred. I'm sorry to be such a stickler, but if you look at this image compared to the warrior image, you can see that the warrior image is much more smudged. My advice: make sure your lineart is on a different layer so you don't smudge it, and then lock the background. Then take your brush (circle fuzzy 03 or maybe 05) and smudge the stripes all in the same direction.
