In between the haunch and leg is where the shading is. There's a highlight on the apprentice's belly because the light source is underneath the cat. That is my shading placement choice and I'll be reluctant to change it. The eyes just have more highlights and dark spots than the apprentices (I played with them to give them more depth) but I can change them... if the majority wants me to. I'm fond of them. Duck means there's waste in the spot in between the legs. It's not supposed to be there, so please get rid of it. It doesn't matter what the source is, that waste shouldn't be there. And speaking of sources, this isn't a proper light source. Could you possibly change it? —Jayce(04:40, 9/18/2012)
Can you blend the shading a little more? And it is, Duck just has two conflicting areas of origin, on the shoulders, arm, and haunch, it suggests a lower light, but on the face, it suggests a light higher up. It's an easy fix, on the haunch, curve the shading on the underside of the haunch more, and on the arm, define the shading on the backs and shadow the bottom of the paw. The smudges almost look pixily, or not exactly pixily but look...computerish? (it makes no sense, I fail at explaining). Play around with your smudge settings, get a feel for it and try different techniques and it should come out natural looking. Iveh Yo! 05:53, September 18, 2012 (UTC)

I think I know what's wrong. In my honest opinion, the huge difference between the main pelt color and the color of the stripes can give one the impression of a tortie at first glance, since torties usually have more dark than light on them. Maybe if you make the difference between colors a tad less extreme, it might help dissolve the illusion. Just my opinion, however :) Iveh Yo! 16:31, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
